damiongoodpaster just doesn't get it. He has obviously never heard of Link Wray and doesn't like rock and roll. I'd rather this one single by itself than his entire music collection.
This is from 1984. Do a check on what was popular during 1984 then it's easy to see that this was the antidote.
@damiongoodpaster : and most of those highschoolers will never be near the caliber of artist that Billy Childish continues to be to this day. Don't be too quick to judge a book by this cover (pun intended).
You obviously know nothing about music, to make a statement like that. Billy childish is a musical genius, and before you post rubbish you should listen and learn, and in this case you should learn about Link Ray.
can someone help me out. In the late 80\s a friend made me a tape of the Milkshakes and The Prisoners Live At the IPC or something club. Anyone remember and if they have it post up on you tube please. Cheers x
I tghink I had that exact same bass for a while...maybe it was this one...which originally belonged to Russ?? I bought it from a guy at the pawn shoppe in ANGEL...then the bass never really worked , the pick up was duff I know no its cos' JOHN AGNEW had played some Link Wry with it it conked out...maybe it was this bass I bought at the shoppe...I fookin' sold it ain't I? I sold it to daiv for 250n Sterling like a fool...BOLLIX...it was such a good bass! (even the PU was dead)
Great live band , i was at this gig it was the garage, nottingham, my patch, i remember this rockabilly dude we called wing nut forcing his way to the front and the lead singinger when spotting him said " your Fucking brave coming down the front with tabs that fuckin size" oh we laughed, he fucked off to the back soon after. nice one!
Boy this takes me back to garage gigs seeing Milkshakes and their support The Prisoners so many times. Anyone got some Ambassadors of Love footage, After School Sessions Album still played regularly all these years on.
Great to see a rare Milkshakes clip of this vintage, though they were 100 times better on a good night than you'd ever guess from this. Any more songs from this (or any other) gig?

@L0K3 You may be thinking of the Canterbury album/bootleg that was released on 1986. Think it was called the Live Split album.

This is known as THE GRETSCH YEARS when Billy could afford a real guitar and stopped playing on toy instruments!

It's an early 60's Gretsch Duo Jet, double cutaway model. He ALWAYS plays the coolest, oddball guitars, doesn't he?
