i said points not goals and yeah he can definitely get upwards of 50 POINTS as he develops, and thats not where his game is its best anyway he's an enforcing power forward so the fact that he's putting up these numbers anyway is above and beyond what's expected of him

Well, that's my point actually. From the start somebody compared him to Neely and I said please don't compare Lucic with Neely. Neely was a much better player. Power forward,,imposing, scoring 50 goals. Lucic will never score 50 GOALS not points, GOALS. Oh he will have his 50 points but not score and get points like Neely.did. Simply not in the same category. So those dreamers can continue to dream.

You're right. Neely was an elite goal scorer, and a better skater as well. But, anyone who watched Neely took note of his unique presence on the ice. It was like no other. Opposing players were scared, his physical presence and potential for mean and nasty had an effect. Lucic has that presence on the ice. And, has underestimated vision, passing ability, and scoring touch. Which makes him unique for a guy most would assume plays on the bottom 2 lines. I haven't seen that since Neely.

He's not in the same category as Neely when it comes to goal scoring but when it comes to his prescence and being a difference maker in other ways he can be compared to him. Neely is my favourite player ever

Despite that he won't be a 50 goal scorer, even at a young age he has proven he can come up with clutch offensive plays. And, in the playoffs. He, like Neely is unique in that sense. No one played as physical as Cam, and at the same time was the most dangerous offensive player on the ice. Cam was just a freak of nature that will never be repeated. Not even by Looch, but there is a resemblance, which even though slight, is just awesome to watch.

compare the numbers, lucic has more points in both his first two seasons than neely did in his first two season and, due to injury, he did it in less games

You are wrong. Lucic has less points than Neely. Neely had 31 points and 39 points for first and second season. Lucic has 27 and 42. On top of that Neely is a much better scorer. with 16 and 21 goals compare to 8 and 17 for Lucic. And all that with a shitty team, vancouver. When he was traded to Boston which was a good team then, his number jumped and he started to be that 50 goal scorer that we all discovered. Lucic wil score 50? No way, never.

Instead of coming from the side, hit him head on. Lucic is young in the clip(under 20?). Yes, I agree that there was no elbow/head/behind/after the play. But the player was prone. To me it was borderline, if not boarding.

The guy has really come into his own with the Bruins. Starting to remind me of Neely when he first came into the NHL. Lucic plays a tough game. Ask Van Ryn on the Leafs, or Komasariek from the Habs...LOL. I think you will see him in Vancouver'10.
