  • hey marlowe, thanks for the great vids :D, Lately i have been thinking about changing the color of my bass manually and im wondering if a layer of paint on my bass will affect the sound?

  • @nickojnr I dont know, but i stripped my (now red) fender jazz and painted that;-)

  • @nickojnr when you colour your instrument you will get a more compressed sound

  • @nickojnr i stripped my bass and painted it a nice metallic blue and it actually improved the sound significantly

  • I'm torn between practicing and throwing my bass out the door...lol

  • @baxbobby Sure, tetrachords are just 4 note scales, a G minor tetrachord would be G A Bb C

  • Bravo! ...Your approach in this series will help us bass players discover that one can be creative and have hours of fun when learning scales and arpeggios.....you've also probably sparked new interest in the revival of the Rickenbacker 4001...sounds great!
