  • I chile, what u ate was another COPY OF A PERUVIAN PRODUCT!!! Lucuma originated from Peru!

Fuente Wikipedia

  • Yes Lucuma is a delicately flavoread fruit, but just to things I want to say, first They are to kinds of Lucuma : Pousterial Lucuma from Peru, cultived in the Andes, over 2.000 mts( ca. 5.700 Fts,) higt, and Pousterialsplendor Lucuma from Chile and cultied at sea level. So of course,we are talking here about Lucuma from Chile. Peru? I think is a Tropical Country, near to Ecuador, far away from the South Mediterranean clime Country named Chile. Greats from Chile !!

  • oh, my god! I love lucuma ice cream! I can't even put it in words how good it is. I tried it at an ice cream shop near where i live. I go there all the time now to get 1 scoop lucuma and 1 scoop avocado (or coconut). eating them together is just heavenly!

  • no disrecpet to chile but our lucuma is a peruvian tropical fruit

  • ya no mas!!! heheheheh

  • Although some Lucuma does grow in Chile, it comes from Peru. Lucuma is a Peruvian fruit, not Chilean. It's like going to Japan to get Chinese food. :p

  • sorry your wrong lucuma is from peru but what is true is chile wants to be like peru, bolivia and argentina even tthough they are argentina's lil bitch. Its also mentioned in the books. Hehehe

  • In your dreams. What is a peruvian doing in a video about Chile? Proving a point. You´re NOTHING without us. Just resentment.

  • yet you guys want to be like us

  • It's not chilean dumbass, you CHILEANS love to claim everything like its yours, fuckin intolerant fucks.

  • there are 2 kinds of lucuma (chilean and peruvian)

    Pouteria lucuma (peru)

Pouteria splendens, sin. Lucuma valparadisaea (chile)

  • Im from Peru and lucuma is from peru no disrespect to chile or anything but lucuma is peruvian

  • chileeeeeeee!!! is my countryyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!

  • And there's always some moron that doesn't know how to spell ;)

  • the Lucuma is a chilean fruit, and, in chile developed product whit lucuma (icecraem, licuor, etc)

  • I don't think anyone was trying to claim that it wasn't originally from Peru. I've heard lucuma is one of the most popular flavors of ice cream in Peru. It is really good, I'd like to find this ice cream here in the US.

  • I wonder what Wikipedia says about where lucuma originated from....

  • I checked Wiki, it says quote on quote:

"The lucuma is native to the dry subtropical Andean coastal valleys of Peru; introduced later in other South American countries."

"Fruits grown in the Peruvian highlands are considered to be of superior flavor, and are culturally revered." No wonder Peruvians really defend this stuff :)

Also, there is a place in California that has delicious Lucuma flavored Ice cream called Mitchell's Ice Cream..so if you live in the San Fran area, look out for it.

  • Lucuma originates in Peru, not Chile. I wish Zimmern got his facts straight before publishing this :/

But indeed, it is really delicious!

  • lucuma rocks!
