This may not have been the best Tom Baker or Cyberman story, but I'd rather watch this than most of Season 18 (1980-81) and every other Cybermen story from the original series (Save Earthshock).

@zzzxxyy Well to me the best Cybermen storys are The Tenth planet & Tomb of the Cybermen and I don't think the Cybermen have been used as well in those storys then any other Cybermen storys.

@zzzxxyy I wish we coud have had the original script of this story, which Gerry Davis wrote involving the Cybermen trying to destroy Voga which in Daviss original script involved miners living on Voga.

@zzzxxyy i watched Earthshock at the time of first recording, there was no clues in the papers like there is now do at the end of the first episode to see the cybermen was a complete shock

I have read you comments about this story on other videos and saying how crap it is and that it is the worst Cybermen story etc but I will admit Earthshock, The Tenth Planet, Tomb of the Cybermen and The Invasion are alot better but still this was a good story and I do like the Cybermen's design in this story but I do agree there voices in this story were awful but still this was a good story nuff said!

@rojblake82 Thats ok sorry if I was being rude I was just tired of you constantly bashing Revenge of the Cybermen, now I will admit this story is not perfect and Earthshock and the 60's Cybermen storys I mentiond are so much better but this is still a decent story in my book, I think the main problam with this story is the Cybermen voices the rest of the story is mostly fine and I actually like the Cybermen designs in this story but overall this is a good story but we all have our own opinions.

Revenge of the Cybermen is actually better than Silver Nemesis which I did not like at all, the Cybermens designs in this story are quite good better than the Wheel in sapce designs which I did not like and the Cybermens designs in this story are better in billions of ways than the new cybus Cybermens designs which are ghastly in billions of ways .

Here's a tip, if you want to make a good cyberman voice from the use of Audacity...as well doing the usual pitch change, you use the mda detune which is also very affective.

I wish everyone everywhere on YouTube would just shut the fuck up about classic WHO. It's one hundred times better than the new crap. At least in those days a creative effort was put into everything they did with the budget they had to work with, whereas everything now is all cgi computer crap. Take all the special effects away from new WHO and you're left with NOTHING!!!!!!

The new series recycles the same stupid catchphrases over and over again; overuse of badly done comedy with companions constantly trying to get down the Doctor's throat. Not to mention the "psychic paper", which comes in handy when your storyline is falling apart. You're right, it's much better than the classic series. What was I thinking!!

this was my first experience of the cybermen. the voices are fine, the story was good and the best doctor for this story.

the thing with these cybermen is that they sound alot more human than alien, and i think it works well as it keeps you aware that if these things were real, they are essentially humans that have pieces added.

I like everything about this episode except 1. the cybermen and 2. the scene at the end with Voga spinning/something on a can that is being turned. But, they thought it was a kids show; they didn't care about effects.

Revenge of the Cybermen is an enjoyable romp. Like reintroducing the Daleks in Day of the Daleks after several years' absence, they got the voices wrong. Perhaps when these stories are issued on DVD, they could include an easter egg in the form of an alternative soundtrack with Nicholas Briggs re-voicing the Daleks and Cybermen?
