  • Wow, not only it looks like a real il 62, but it also sounds like one and takes forever to finally lift off too! LOL Nice.

  • wher did you fly this at? was this in deathvalley at soggy drylake?

  • Super scale take off and landing !! You did a great job building and flying this very nice Jet airliner.

The sound of the motors is just away-some

    Cheers,Alex

  • invisible to see your rc planes like that

  • how are you building it?

  • Bit of a white balance issue with the cam there....

  • salt flats UTAH.....

  • nice landing

  • how do u build these planes anyways?

  • Nice scale takeoff! Beautiful landing, too! You're gonna go blind flying in that desert, though. :)

  • Where is this field?

  • I would have liked to see the airplane. Too bad the WB on the camera was not adjusted correctly

  • It's so bright there that it's hard to see the white plane at all.

  • Just like any other rc plane..............I thought it was going to burst off with real turbines,,typical video

  • bello ,avion y el sonido estupendo, felicidades

  • kauf dia bloss mal ne andere kamera

  • very cool nice work

  • thats a cool location, relaxing

  • thats a cool location, relaxing

  • I find it fascinating what you guys are doing...how much does a plane like that cost????

  • @LukeAustrian

    more than u can afford

  • I'm totally blown away. Congrats on your job and first flight. IL-62 models are rare, and have their place in aviation history. I'm surprised that Norbert's wasn't in INTERFLUG livery. Where do you get the turbines?

  • I GUESS YOU ITHER MAKE EM OR BUY EM ONLINE. ask someone at your local hobby shop.

  • I like my YouTube videos to have at least 3 minutes of absolutely nothing happening before the video begins. This one only has 2 minutes.

  • What kind of engines are those???

  • stealth plane^^

  • BEAUTIFUL! What did it cost, and where can they be purchased from?

  • Much safer than a real Cubana flight!

  • @jlofla Sure... Ask for Posada Carriles... He kills a lot of cubans using a Bomb back in the 70's...now, that angel is friend of the USA goverment who protect him... terrorists protecting terrorists...nice?

  • Yeah, is like the Chacal, still the venezuelan gov. is paing lawyers tring to relief him from jail, there are bad and good terrorist, the Chacal is an Angel for Chavez

  • @jlofla lol, I agree...

  • that must have been alot of money but awesome

  • Amazing Video! Congrats on the build! Il-62's look amazing specially in the Cubana Livery.

  • I think that my nervous could to shake the first flight of this airplane. I could to get a real heart's stress for an airplane that has been made by my own brain and hands. Congratulations!

  • I wish they made a blackbird(jetfire) one...

  • Shame about the noisy motor bikes in the background.

  • How much do a plain like that cost?

  • 2500$

  • very true to scale, like all russian airplanes it just barely gets off the ground. good job.

  • @Ignantredneck Yeah, but the best landing there can be, asshole

  • I wouldnt get within 1/2 a mile of the real version of this plane for fear of the leaking fuel tanks exploding. Typical shitty russian design. Cool model though.

  • should have had an nd filter on the camera

  • what a great place to fly!

  • I think that this was a really great video. Unfortunately, the conditions were so bright that this video was very, very difficult to see.

  • wear some sunnies mate

  • Que maravilloso video, pero diganme

    ?ellos son ingenieros cubanos ?

  • holy crap that thing is a beast

  • is that edf

  • yup

  • Beautiful takeoff, flight & landing - Just Beautiful !! :3)

  • Good job, nice plane well flown. Looks like it handles really good!

  • yes they have IL-62 along with other soviet stuff in their fleet

  • Yes we do.

  • Why are this not fuel engine?

  • thats a really good place to fly an rc aircraft

  • Bravó Modell Meister! Wunderschön. Grüße aus Budapest!!

  • I waz like 'where da tail'

    Then I waz like 'oh'

  • jump to 2:30 rigth away so u dont have to waist ur time

  • That is simple question to answer! The VC-10 is an ugly peace of shit. The IL-62 is great aircraft.

  • You must think the IL-62 is an ugly peace of shit aswell, you didnt say it looks beutiful and the IL-62 is just the excact same look.

  • Maybe in your special world? I just had the chance to visit a vc-10 in the uk. The wing had so many aerodynamic corrections and wing fences it must have been a real disaster!

The Il-62 has a clean wing and is clearly the best of the four rear hole designs.

  • to make four dicks go in hmmmmmmmm lol

  • I can't believe how much this sounds like an actual IL-62.

  • does this plane come wit thrust reverse?

  • beatiful plane and landing..............

  • You can put a hamster there

  • no that goes in your butt.

  • you should put a hamster in there!

  • Hamster`s!!!

  • nice takeoff roll and landing!

  • The CU-T1283 RIP. excellent Video

  • looks like thats somewhere out in Navada?

  • btw that is awesome have u ever thought of putting a camera on that model cuz wow

  • OMG! It actually sounds like the real IL-62!! Excellent flying!

  • Very nice landing!

  • nice jet !

  • Oh, i love russian airliners. This is beautiful! Will get myself a proper newbie plane soon. Keep posting vids like this.

    Peace / Richard

  • Congratulations, I am just building small planes, which sometimes are difficult enough - but this one...! Do you have a build log with pictures somewhere? If not, please set-up one for your next project - the Concorde

  • Re-watching the video I am wondering how you determined the C.G. without detailed plans?!

  • those motor bikes are anyoing i cant hear the damn plane i really wanted to hear it on landing!

  • Heh, the ducted fans even sound like the real Soloviev engines! ;)

  • Exactly. And that sound is the reason why I love this aircraft :)

  • wow ... wonderful

  • mate, this is just awesome. So realistic. !

  • Good pilot! What an awsome landing.

  • Check the website

    rauch(minus)airliner(dot)com

  • Cool flight. I like your plane. I really like that it is electric!

  • At 3.24 sounds like someone says asshole

very nice model and top landing :)

  • yup, lol i heard that!!! Exelent model.

  • Fantastic looking / flying model - I am a builder as well for about the last 5 years, I have scratchbuilt several models including a Mirage IV, CF-105 Avro Arrow, F-16, etc. I mostly use Depron foam and balsa for my planes. I am curious what materials you used to construct your fantastic looking airliner? I am currently building a de Havilland Dash 8 which will be electric powered and has a 48" wingspan.Any input you could provide would be appreciated! Thanks in advance and happy flying! - Ryan

  • Thank you .. the model has a foam core that is covered in balsa and in key places has carbon fiber weave or thread, it's then all covered in fiberglass soaked in resin and that's vacuumed. She was then sanded a lot and filled and sanded some more then when completely smooth she was painted in automotive two stage paint.

  • I wanna know something, the 4 engines are working? They are really turbines or electric?

  • Yes, all 4 engines work and they are Electric Ducted Fans made of Carbon Fiber.

  • very good landing

  • OH LORD what a beautiful plane... are you selling it?

  • I had thought about it, but decided to keep it.

  • Fantastic!

    The lake bed looks familiar...

    Where was this video done?

    Happy New Year!

    -Paul

  • Near Edwards AFB

  • El Mirage I'm guessing...

    Very nice video.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

    And for the reply!

    ~Paul

  • Are you going to build more of these wonderful looking airliner models?

I've checked the site of Norbert Rauch and there is not only the Il-62 but also a large number of Boeing, MD, Airbus and other planes.

  • There are a few other models that I am thinking about building ... but my next one maybe the Concorde.

  • Very nice model of plane i used to like.

Too bad the video didn't show much detail.

Will you try to build one with real jets?

  • At this point I don't have any plans on either building or modifying this one for turbines. I am really only into electric planes.

  • You are right about the fact that there are builders that don't fly and those who fly and don't build. However, I am into both, but whatever I build from scratch or from a Kit I fly only to test the plane if it flies, then I hang them up on the ceiling with motor and everything and they'll never see the sky again. With ARFs it's a totally different story, I usually fly the crap out of them, if I crash I buy another one,but the one I built and put my soul in it cannot be replaced.

  • thats like got the same power output as a washing machine lol nice flying dude hats off to you :)

  • LOL, she does have a lot of power in those little nacelles. Some questions have come up as to why I choose the "Cubana" livery one person even called me a communist ... go figure I thought this was 2008-09 and we where past all that. Anyway a little about the plane, it is Russian, so the only countries that flew it where eastern block or pro-Russian. So when I decided to build this plane, the only way to make it "scale" is to do it in an authentic colour scheme.

  • I choose "Cubana" as I liked the way it looked on the photos I had of the real airplane. If you where to view detailed photos you will see that I have tried to duplicate everything. To end with a little trivia, Pan American Airlines owned Cubana from 1932-46. I wanted to thank you all for your comments and wish you all a Happy New Year!

  • looks like it has brakes.

  • The Il-62 is my favorite T-tailed plane.

  • beautiful take off and landing !!!

  • amazing Cubana livery, it suits the airplane very nicely

  • Really beautiful landing indeed.

This is what I call a real RC modeler.

  • I love the sound!

  • That is just amazing! And it goes like a bat out of hell.

    Great landing!!!!!!!

I bet it cost you an arm and a leg though.

  • even sounds like the real thing!

  • deamn! cubana de aviacion wow men pretty nice

  • You the best R/C Plane controller I'd ever seen! This is the best ~

  • Fantastic aircraft & video, that was great to watch!!!!

  • textbook landing. nice plane.

  • Thank you.

    LotusTrbo

  • LOLOL i think so

  • is that guy peeing at .45-.47?

  • I actually flew in one of these from havanna to holguin. I kinda of got scared because they don't idle the engines at the terminal they fire it up, quickly taxi to the runway and take off. When they turned on the engine and turn on the AC, a white mist came out of the AC vents, never seen that before.

  • i have seen this white mist on an a321 too. its quit normal

  • OTIMO

  • Amazing!!! Very nice and beautiful aircraft and very nice flight!!! Last time I saw one 1:1 scale was more than 6 years ago. I really miss this IL-62s.

    My most sincere congratulations!!

    Best Regards.

  • is that on the salt flats?

  • ew HUge plane you got there!!

  • DONDE PODRE COMPRAR UNO DE ESOSS

  • que bolas un avion pintado como los de cubana de aviacion... debes ser comunista igual que el viejo de mierda

  • any way to find out how to bay one of this ?

  • Que bonito!!

  • where can i find a little more info about this plane ? do U have a website ?

  • Skill and daring to fly that IL-62M so cleanly!

  • That ballbuster with his 2stroke noisy piece of shit ruined almost the whole video!! grrr

  • AAhahahaahhahahahahaha lOL :D NICE 1 man maid me laugh so hard. :*)

  • Sounds just like the real thing!

  • Indeed! Not only does it sound like an IL-62M, but I'm willing to bet the landing was true to scale also...!

  • LOL, thats amazing, It even sounds real when it flies by.

  • If I was there,I would give a big applause.Nice job,lovely flight.

  • what's the weight of your plane? How much thrust do you have?? What battery?

  • About 40 lbs, Thrust about 30-35lbs, lipos 6s

  • Dood! Those engine sounds on take-off are sick! They sound just like the real one! Sweet landing for not using flaps. +5!

    Check out my airplane vids...

  • were can i get one

  • Very good looking plane and the landing was awsome

  • where were you because i have ann rc plane but have no good place to fly it?!;)

  • This flight took place by Edwards AFB. However, I normally fly out at the Supulvida Basin in the San Fernando Valley.

  • What did you make the plane with? Where did you get started? What website or magazine?

-Nice video, I'm also interested in RC models of Russian airplanes ;)

  • The tail and nose are fiberglass the rest of the plane is foam that is cover in balsa wood, and then fiberglass with certain points having carbon-fiber reinforcement. The whole this is painted in automotive paint.

  • Great work! I used to like watching IL62's years ago when I was in Frankfurt for a while.

  • Lol, this is a very beautiful RC aircraft you made. I loved the engine sound too, sorta sounds like the IL-62 when miniturized too (the NK-88s on it have a specific sound.)Great job on this beautiful RC plane! :D
