  • Hi, Im just wondering what type of speaker you used for this setup and where/what modifications were required?

  • I'm not absolutely certain, but I believe this Kato is 5 pole skew wound-i.e. their "Genesis" drive if you will.

  • @rjbishop2 5-Pole is more commonly known as a "Can" motor. 5 Pole is what you should look for when buying a locomotive, athearn cheaps out and uses 3-pole in their rtr line. They do use 5-pole in their genesis, but atlas uses 5-pole in their lower Trainman line. So once again I will say, Athearn Loco's Suck!!!!

  • Is the motor in this loco straight or skew wound?

  • I love trains

  • No... the stock Kato HO SD70 just comes with basic lighting. By adding the Soundtrax Tsunami board, you get all kinds of options regarding sound and lights. I recently added flashing ditch lights (a very manually intensive effort), and will take a new video with the new changes that I made for this setup. It's really very cool.

  • Did all the lights flash like this right out of the box? I have two of these and neither one flashes? These are cool locomotives, aren't they?

  • No- this is the Kato HO version of this locomotive.

  • This is N-Scale, right?

  • This is N-Scale, right?
