Lovely rendition. Ritournelle will always be my favorite GL theme but Hold On To Love is a close second. It reminds me of the period in the early 90's (after Reva died) when the show was finally getting back to its identity ... but then they killed off Maureen and Reva came back and it was the beginning of the long end.

Rob Mounsey composed it, but I am unclear as to whether he actually conducted its recording for the show, and I don't know who or what group played the various versions for 1991-2002.

Thats so funny to hear about not watching any soap opera anymore because I gave up watching any myself after guiding light. It has been almost 1 year and I still look at the clock to see what time it is so I can watch my favorit soap opera of all time, guiding Light. I too so miss the show and the people that stared in the series..

Thank you parkthoven for this remarkable rendition of one of Guiding light's best thems. I hated when they change from the theme "My guiding light" to this one "Hold on to love" at first. However, I learned to love it even more than "My guiding light". I miss Guiding light so much and I gave up watching soaps after it was canceled. The executive producer could NOT stop him from being fired. The EP's boss made the decision despite his objections! Why are you so negative about the show ending? I hated that he was fired, too, but it's not the show's fault.

Guiding Light did NOT fire him. The executive in charge of production of Procter & Gamble, Mary-Alice Dwyer Dobbin (MADD) fired him. The cast and EP of GL did NOT want him fired!
