why can't I find clips of the david lynch movie on youtube no more? I call bullshit corporatism and greed. But yeah, that was kinda cool. I really wanted to see that scene where he says "long live the fighter!" without actually popping in the dvd.
Hey everybody - I just released my solo album "Mirror Image" that contains electronic upbeat and ambient songs inspired by the music of Frank Klepacki and the Dune video game series. If you're interested you can check out the songs on my youtube page, and links to my myspace page and places to download the full album are on my youtube channel as well :) .
@ClownUnit02 You know that they've hade peribolic microphones since the early nineties right? Dune is set in the far future; surely they've improved on 20th century survailence tech.
@ClownUnit02 And you think a crude version didn't exist? Hell, Robert Heinline basically created the concept of powered armor suits (take that, Gundam and Halo) in the mid-50's, H.G. Well predicted balistic missile launching subs in one book and nukes in another one both written in the early 20th. I think you should give the man more credit.
@Usul75 Oh, they trust Ix and Richese well enough to let them be the only ones to build devices more complicated that time-activated coffee makers. That scope is clear-enough to be of Ixian manufacture. The Butlerian Jihad might prohibit "thinking machines", but things like the Hunter-Seeker are permitted; it matters not whether that is explicitly or implicitly. A peribolic microphone combined with a high-magnification spyglass is too useful a device to not be availible to paying customers.
Good question! I'm still confused about it, I can't remember if he really plays Indiana Idaho or Legolas Jones...; perhaps was played by Billy Crystal, he did it well at the spoof in the Oscars!

@TheKNH86 But Herbert had nothing to do with this game.

@ClownUnit02 Then Westwood had an inovative thinker on the team, obviously. And why change the topic?
TheKNH86 1 year ago
Well, Jules Verne wrote about submarines and in his time it was ridiculous.

@TheKNH86
They do not, because of Butlers Jihad.
Thats why they have Mentats like him, and no computers.
And why no one likes and trust the technicians from the planet IX.

While mentat-dwarf Gimli Hawat talks, Legolas Idaho is riding an Oliworm to save the life of Indiana Halleck from the Harkonnen Nazi troops...
