Stop yelling, start selling. You don't know snowblowers, that's fine, but stop reading all the labels on the machine, learn the characteristics and inform people instead of looking like a marketing tool.
@dabrooza, you're right. It can't compare to ARIENS over charging for something that's not really better, lol. I I was interested in a $1500 Ariens until I saw a Craftsman version that was better for $1250. Granted they were similar, but then Sears put it on sale for $979. Plus they offered 10% more off for a 30 inch 357cc (12-14HP), big auger, impeller, intake, heated handles, 8 speeds, head light, power steering etc. All for $881. Ariens can't beat that unless they too have a big sale.
and while someone can claim the quality of Ariens is better, most of the time both makers use similar parts and engines anyway, blah. And while it could be better, it's not going to make up for being nearly 1/2 the price. This thing is rugged, with good steel, 2 extra turns on the auger. I saw both and this craftsman is hard to beat.
Yes...their labeling does look the same at a glance, that's what you gotta be careful about when making a hugh purchase for sure...did you end up selling your machine yet??
Sorry to inform you, bud...but if it say's 14.50 series or 14.5 where you are looking too; it's not a 14.5 H.P., but rather a 14.5 torque power which is different and works out to be around 10 H.P. I have a 13.5 torque craftsman and thats a 9.5H.P...not 13.5H.P.
Thank you. I ran across a craftsman gas pressure washer with power expressed the same way, torque power. This time I caught it. Learned about that marketing ploy just this week. Their labeling looks like the familiar hp at a glance.
I have that same model. Its about 8 Horses actually. I doubt he sold it cause there going for 899 NEW at sears right now so... who knows but I do hate the crappy disregarding labeling they use.
thats torque idiot not hp if its so good wy is it sitting in a ware house for so lot i can tell buy looking at it its an older model (ariens rules)
