Well I don't know about all of the "chaos" you are talking about. However, if I feel that a piece of software I am using is worth it I usually do buy it.

I do agree with Saariko, that paying for software does show support and helps keep the programmer alive.

I am a programmer myself. So I know that paying for software does keep food on my table.

3D Studio Max does this but I don't think it's as user friendly for making garments. Infact it's a pain in the arse for making garments...

You are absolutly correct. 3D MAX is a pain to make cloths. which is why we don't use it :-).

The program used here is OptiTex, also the animation and all cloth calculations.

OptiTex is a CAD software for Garment industry, and has it's own 3D cloth engine. Also used for every cloth in DAZ3D now as well.

You're welcome. I just find it a pain in the butt that once I've set out a pattern, it's really hard to change it. So after creating my pattern, and simulating it to see how it fits, if it doesn't fit right I'm basically going back three steps to correct the fit.

Here I never had that problem. I didn't need to delete previous modifiers to change the patterns. Just jumped to the Edit Spline, did what I had to do, updated the garment, simulated again and it worked... Teoretically. :) But it's true, that it DOES miss some tools to modify the cloth shape after simulating. But still, worth working with, in my opinion.

I disagree. 3D Studio Cloth moddifier is very good one, if you know how to use it. I worked with it quite a lot. Of course, sometimes it's pain in the arse, but still, if you know how, you can create stunning cloths objects.
