This was released, i think, on 2nd March 1963. The night I recall speaking with Gerry at the Alexandra Hall in Grt Crosby. The Black Velvets played on the same bill.
The thing is The Beatles inadvertently helped "How Do You Do It?" become a hit. Gerry Marsden has said that George Martin never played them the Mitch Murray version of HDYDI but the then unreleased Beatles recording in which The Beatles gave the song a more up-tempo arrangement compared to Murray's demo.
Gerry & The Pacemakers then based their arrangement of the song around The Beatles version so if we're to be honest the credit should go written by Mitch Murray, arranged by The Beatles.
How Do You Do It was written by a fellow named Mitch Murray, not the Beatles-That is why they wanted no part of it-The wanted to record Please Please Me, which of course as we all know went straight to Number 1
George Martin found this song for the Beatles saying this will be a number one hit and after they recorded it, they said they couldn't come up with this. So John came up with Please Please Me. Which turned out to be a number one hit. And George Martin gave How do you do to Gerry and the Peacemakers and it too was a number one hit. Get your facts straight uselessjoe
This song was offered to The BeaTles ,they recorded a version in studio, but they didnt want to release it for sale because felt it didnt fit their image. They did not write this and infact disliked the song.
i feel like the girls are sitting there in the audience saying to themselves, "these arent the beatles." lol

yes they are out of tune but it's due to the sound track , not the performance....

Its not the band..something is out of phase.Sounds like a bad capstan on a real to real or a badly wound tape/dirty heads.

Greatness. They are awful. Being in the shadow of Beatles must have been a swine.
