I saw an interview of Neil Sedaka, of where Elvis invited him and his wife up too his suite after one of his concerts, and Elvis gave Neil's wife a solid gold necklace, I beleive and Neil sat at the piano while he and Elvis sang, Neil Sedaka said too bad there were not a tape recorder around. WOW can you imagine if there was one?
I signed the petition. I'm surprised that he's not already in the Hall of Fame. What's with all the "gay" talk? He recorded "Bad Blood" with his daughter and his wife has been his long-time manager.

When I woke up this morning this song was in my head being sung by Karen Carpenter (R.I.P. Karen) I tried to find it on youtube being sung by her but found Neil instead. Wonderful tender song. It's refreshing. A truly feel good song.
great stuff, and good memories rekindled.it shows you dont have to flash your toilet areas and wear a baseball cap backwards to make real music.roll on neil.

We were signed to Atlantic Records in the late eighties by Kim Stephens and we played hair metal, but I don't judge based on my sexual preference. Just stick to the merits of the song writer/tune. K?
@BlackdogScratch What the Hell does transplant Mexican have to do with this at all. You should be the one to be sticking to the merits of the song. Relax
1975 - Senior year and having the time of my life. The many hours spent with songs like this were magic. Going back and doing it all over agian would be a dream come true. I have not seen her in 26 years but this song aways brings her back in my mind.
Oh man. This song, and his voice, is the sound of spring, whatever the season. I'm so glad that i grew up to this sort of music. Lady Gaga type of rubbish, in comparison, is nothing short of child abuse.
You losers with comments about sexuality are truly pathetic. It's great music, morons. Who the hell cares who does it? You like it or you don't listen to it. Your comments are childish and show how little you really respect anyone.
@DrFlippin I wonder why - as a medical professional - you would think such a thing:weird.......You are right about the talent - one of the best songwriters & a professional pianist par excellence.
@lelboy There are many, many normal (and incredibly talented) trans-gendered people in the world, who have been denigrated for being just who they are. Health professionals like me don't think trans-gendered people are wierd, and the the descriptor should not be a pejorative.
@DrFlippin Ah, most revered doctor, you have completely misunderstood my post - on all levels.
I did not imply that transgendered folk were weird: I thought it weird that you could even imagine Neil was transgender: are you not aware of his offspring and family? It would only have taken you a few minutes to "google" him. Some guys are tenor, others are baritone and then there are those like Neil, whose voice effortlessly hits the higher register. Ye gods, will you next ask if Roy Orbison was TG?
@lelboy put your patronizing tone to rest. Even those who don't work in healthcare understand that transgender, homosexual and heterosexual people alike can create offspring. Are you transgender? If you were, then you'd not take offense to my question. You seem to imply that transgender is some kind of insult or negative phenomenon. 'wierd' - is producing a fetish video baring the soles of your feet so your friends can get off. And btw why would anyone assume Roy Orbison was transgender?
@lelboy How cowardly of you to reply to my personal profile... For the record, my query about Neil Sedaka being TG follows a number of comments that he might be; and its of no concern to me whether he is or isn't - not because of his voice, moron! (many TG people sing baritone). And how does being "a reasonably well-educated gay liberal" give you "no axe at all to grind, nor point to score"?. Your axe is in full view. And that foot fetish clip on your channel is, well... just plain 'wierd'.
@DrFlippin You really are a churl of the first magnitude - semi-literate as well (check your spellings). Had you bothered to read my first post properly, you would have noticed a colon before the word "weird" (spelled correctly). It then reads completely differently to how you chose to interpret it. If it matters that much to you, then I'll happily post my "cowardly" message for all to see. Again, you are really very weird.
@DrFlippin Hah, I'm not able to re-post my "cowardly" comment, because you chose to remove it from your profile. Perchance because others may have looked at it and thought "what a tit this doctor is". Ah well, just carry on doing a Don Quixote, and tilt at someone else, rather than me.
Wow, beautiful song! All Along I thought a lady sang this song...however, only today I know who Neil Sedaka really is!! This song brings lot of memories from my childhood.
I absolutely love this live arrangement. The key change, complete with strings and sax at the end is a spectacular conclusion to an already amazing song.
Im a straight 53 yo man and took my wife to see Neil Sadaka... he was fantastic in concert and so talented. He did a duet with his daughter (she was in another city) and they synched it perfectly. You youngsters dont realize what real music was because the songs and songwriters of the 60s-70s are so much better than the crap out there today.
@bigtimcny "Im a straight 53 yo man and took my wife to see Neil Sadaka"

@bigtimcny You and I both know that the sixties and seventies had songs that were just as bad as the stuff being made today, and that the better songs of this generation are on par with the classics from then. The only thing is that time has had a chance to let the sub-par songs from the sixties and seventies slip through the cracks.
@bigtimcny You almost had me, but then you fell into the stereotype of an older generation. There's more coming out today than lady gaga and most of whats on pop radio. Also Sedaka was nowhere near the caliber of many of the musicians of his time
Kim where ever you are..I walked in the rain to the school across the street from my townhouse and dream'nt of me holding your hand. It was on a Saturday and I remember it like it was yesterday. You were my high school sweetheart and we never even dated. God i loved Math class with you. Hey I'm available now. Great song Great Memories!
He's quite the song writer - He was originally with the Tokens who did the classic "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". BTW - I'm white and Canadian but my all time fave music is soul, R&B, blues - Jerry Butler, Brook Benton, The Temptations, Dramatics, Manhattens, Harold Melvin. . . the list is endless. Classics all!!
Why is he not in the R&R Hall? I would hardly call him rock and roll. Then again, look at the list of inductees. The majority of members is a joke. Not to mention the bands that should be in there that aren't. Either way, the hall is such a joke, it has no merit whatsoever.

When this came out, i was way too cool to like it too, so i loved it instead. Today, it's only just as good as it was then, Awesome and great song to enjoy listening to and singing along with. Neil Sedaka has a fine voice. although his sound dates him a bit, you can't hide the magic in those pipes.
