I was at this show..Back in 77, January...ran up to the front at the end of the show. This was the third night..not quite sro but the place was packed.
I love this footage. It is actually filmed better than a lot of early shows. I like to see the stage shots also and this footage actually shows the stage show!!!! WOOOO
"You can walk in a haze you can travel till you....die"....Fucking fantastic! That pause Paul does before the word,"die",gets me every time.Brilliant solo from Paul and Ace.The rhythm guitar playing behind the solo is so good.Way ahead of it's time, this song.'70's Kiss was unbeatable.
dang. this jams. . . why isn't this a staple of classic rock radio? seriously--this is so much better than a lot of that lame stuff that everyone considers to be 'classic.'
ACE FREHLEY! It was always about Ace. Ace was the one we came see and hear. I had the pleasure of seeing KISS in 1977 and 1978. What a show, and Ace was the man.
I saw them a year later in January 78' in Detroits Olympia Stadium.....I was 15 and it was the first live concert I'd ever seen. These guys were GODS!
Love this shared solo... between Ace & Paul... this was such a magic time!! The sticker from this Album from the day it came out was on my 9th grade notebook! Was in Section 203 for the Feb Madison Square Garden show.. Never did I see kiss again top this show!
I agree with Mercury91, it's awesome how Paul and Ace share the lead in this one. I saw KISS in Charlotte 1977 and it was a breathtaking show. I'll never forget it.
Fantastic. In the fabulous KISS Alive Forever book it says of this...."All three Cobo Arena gigs were broadcast live on an overhead video screen in the arena and may have been archived on videotape, most likely by the Kelly-Kirby production team. However other than..."Beth", none of the footage has appeared either among collectors or from the band's archives.
So can only assume that this is a relatively recent discovery. Let's hope they release it and Annaheim on Kissology Vol 4.
I thought he sang it pretty much like the Rock n Roll over version. but a little less passion. he may have just been tired if this was near the end of the show.
Dude, PS moves around a lot during a show, and standing still in front of a mic is not the order of the day. Don't misconstrue Paul's level of activity for a lack of vocal chops.
this has the best sound out of all the boots. especially the drums.
