that said, I agree with the protest 100% in theory. They just have to go about it a different way. I also disagree with the police brutality I have seen for summary jaywalking. Continued refusal leads to misdemeanor disorderly conduct. The police need to be put to task for their abuse, but I fear a court will deam it justified use of force in a riot situation. I do not believe it is a riot, but thats the excuse I fear they wil luse if challenged in court.
The police have a duty to serve and protect and to defend the constitution of the united states, however they also have a duty to uphold the laws of the city, municipality, and the state you are in. They are blocking traffic, preventing people from their right of travel, stopping them from going to work, and preventing emergency services by blocking the streets. You DO NOT have a right to exercise you rights if in doing so it violates or infringes on anyone elses rights. Read the constitution.
