Hamza argue is a giant contadiction. he tells us that infinities cant exist then he tell us the universe began with a singularity. If he bothered to look up anything about what a singularity is, he will find the space-time curvature is infinite, the pressure is infinite, the density is infinite, the temperature is infinite. So he tells us there are no infinites but perhaps he doesnt realise that he implicitly believes in four infinities.
@skydivephil Believing in God makes more sense than believing in infinity. Infinity is an invented god to describe something that can't be realized or imaginary. Dividing 0 by 1 or 100 = infinity. What does that mean to you? We know that scientists have to come up with some imaginary assumptions and conceptions about the reality under study in order to partially explain it. Our studies of people or things assume rationality otherwise we get no where.
Dr Larvor 'doesn't have the time' to read the Quran, Bible, etc.. why is he debating against theism then? i just don't understaaand why if he hasn't even done sufficient research to HAVE an opinion.
You know what cracks me up? I mean truely laughing out loud? This guys talks about posteriori and logic and reasoning in one breath, but we all know the true, he was born into a muslim household and told basically told that Islam is true and if he doesn't believe in it, he'll burn in hell. He didn't use any reasoning or logic whatsoever to come to the conclusion that Allah is god. It's a joke that he tries to make others to do this.
Rut267: (This guys talks about posteriori and logic and reasoning in one breath, but we all know the true, he was born into a Muslim household)
Peace Rut267, If U mean 2 say that Hamza ANDREAS TZORTIS was born into a Muslim Household, then U R mistaken. And if that was the basis of ur argument here, then ur reasoning is in error.
@Rut267 For your information he's greek, he changed his name and converted to Islam later on in his studies of religion, he grew up in a strong Greek Orthodox family to which his parents are, so he was 'indoctrinated' if you will in Catholicism. One should really know what they are talking about without stating things that are false. Peace, Salaam.
@Yeppox His grandfather was more of a new age spiritualist. Hamza became interested in Buddhism as a teenager, so he was never really a religious person. He didn't hold to Christianity, and his family wasn't really that religious, but more spiritual, rather.
islam and atheism both are beliefs... so both are equal... one claims there is a god other claims there is no god...
Instead let's try to inquire the truth whether god exists or not...
belief has the odss of being 50% truth or 50% falsehood... but knowing is 100% truth... Are you satisfied with 50% truth/falsehood.
Neither are Rational - Btw, if you really want to be rational you should ask "Do I really need a GOD?"; "Why should I care about god?" because God or No God hasn't helped anybody.
Infinity is an expression that we give to the idea of an unimaginable number. The idea that the universe came out of nothing is not true, check string theory or how the universe works. Out of the millions and millions of galaxies (which have billions of sun with planets in rotating around them) why would god care at all about what we do. Religion was created by humans in order to set a way of life that people at those times saw fit. Simple as that.
How do you know for sure that Muhammad was genuinely a prophet and wasn’t just a man who hallucinated after being alone in a cave for a year? Is it just a matter of faith? Then what makes faith in Muhammad more wise, or better placed, than faith in Buddha or Thor?
Those will have lost who deny the meeting with Allah , until when the Hour [of resurrection] comes upon them unexpectedly, they will say, "Oh, [how great is] our regret over what we neglected concerning it," while they bear their burdens on their backs. Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear. And the worldly life is not but amusement and diversion; but the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allah , so will you not reason?
Dr Larvor thrashes around like a drowning cat. Can't stop apologising. I have seen Hamza Tzortzis debate at Sussex University against a 'philosopher' who couldn't continue and had to leave. Athiesm simply does not have an adequate answer. Neither does philosophy. Why? Because Man is not as smart as God. Man will never be able to fathom the universe - but by learning from God we can at least get to understand our place in it, even if we can't see all the truth. There is much hidden from us.
@theprof291166 How can you doubt human intelligence? Guess who invented gods (including yours)???
As for Hamza Andreas Tzortzis argument at the beginning comparing Egypt's turmoil with atheism is so dumb and lame that I am already feeling nauseous. I have no doubt that many would not tolerate arguing with people like Tzortzis. I know I wouldn't.
I have not heard Dr. Larvor yet but I already admire him. It must take a lot to share a room with a cheap Cro-Magnon immitation like Mr. T
This clearly debunked the myth of atheism. Good video and an open invitation for atheists. Logic is a good thing.

Hamza Tzortzis is Greek by birth and was raised in an Orthodox Christian family. He later converted to Islam.
