  • Hey great job mate. Thanks for the help.

  • Comment removed

  • can u do you look good in my shirt guitar solo

  • You did a great job at this

  • Thanks so much for the vid! My friend asked me to help with this song by looking at keith play but I could not get it.

    Thanks so much!

  • ADAM! ur a hottiiee <3

  • pff dw about it. the lesson was awesome.

who cares if u didnt know the strings then.

  • what are your amp settings i was just wondering. thanks

  • The easy way to learn this solo is to get the free VLC media player download so you can slow the AOL Sessions video down by clicking on the arrows on the left side of the video player.

It's easy to figure out, and you will have a blast with the solo because it's easy to play and is soaring and passionate at the same time.

    Bill

  • Great lesson, really enjoyed it.

  • Hey man you did a great job and your tutorial for this song is the best I have seen. ust one quick thing though dude, could you please tell us your interpretation of the strings cos you are a little all over the place cos u r obviously good enough to learn by ear, but for us who will follow strings and frets, could you please post what the strings would be. Great Job with the playing though, your a champion

  • ya i think he has his string upside down at 1:27 ish he says my ring finger on the b ( wich is actually the A) and index on the a ( wich is the b)

  • Would you be able to cover 'Til Summer Comes Around or Only you Can love me this way?

I looked up some of the tabs... either im playing it wrong or the tabs are wrong... Please help! You're awesome!

  • I have been working on those two songs. I can play them but not comfortable giving a lesson just yet cause I haven't really "mastered" them just yet, but I will keep working on it for you

  • @babyxhyper i know how to play til summer comes around...basic hammer ons really..i dont have a camera to show you tho...btw im only 13

  • what tuning are you in bro

  • I'm just in standard tuning

  • great post thanks I love keith urban his music and guitar playing are top notch thanks again.

  • can u tell me what are the frets and stringson the D, A and G cords. please

  • Do you think you are keith urban or something. With the shirt and the wrist band thing going on

  • Yup you're so smart you guessed it!

  • do you want me to post a video if how to correctly play the song. i learned a couple cool short cuts that can take your mind off of the guitar while you singing. play a D chord by barring the bottom three strings on the second fret with your first finger, and the the third fret b string with your secong finger.

  • then plam mute the rythem and slide the second finger to 7th fret and then again but go the 5th fret. and then instead of extending over to pull then 2nd fret g to the 4th. just play a d powerchord and extend your pinky to the 9th fret like you would play a blues rythm

  • Thanks Adam...i hope you continue doing this noble thing you are doing.

    Thank you for your help.

  • what are the amp settings?

    PLEASE!

  • ur uncle plays in his band?

  • Yes, Brad Rice he's in my little YouTube default picture with me

  • hey man...love the video...helped out alot...i cant really figure out tabs myself, and i dont know how you do it, but keep on doin good...by the way...i have been looking for a wrist band like the broken heart one that you have in this video...any ideas where i can get one???

  • Thanks I'm glad it helped man! As for that wrist band I have no idea where to get them I think you have to catch one at a show but that's from last tour. My Uncle just gave me his cause he never wore it on stage

  • sweet man

  • If you don't have time for a video tell me the frets and strings of the first 3 notes and I can figure which scale he used. Keith had formal lessons as did I. I am sure he is playing within a certain scale or 2. I know you play by ear. So do I but like Keith my teacher made me learn theory. It does come in handy when figuring out something. So just give me the start if you want. Thanks again

  • Adam thanks for taking the time to respond back. I figured it was Brad or the guy who plays in the AOL Sessions Acoustic Video of Days go By. When ever you get around to making a fresh video on this song I'd appreciate a heads up. I'm playing the solo and it is close but I'd like it exact. Keith's Fan base is so un generational. Myself I am 53. Big Urban Fan . Just took playing back up again 5 yrs ago. Played from 1968 to 1980 in local band than quit . Golden Road inspired me to play again.

  • Again appreciate your input. Must be nice to get to be so close to Keith. Is he as personable as what he appears to be on Interviews?? Which guy is your uncle. 2 of the guys in his band look like they could be your DAD sort of.

  • Haha yes Keith is one of the most laid back down to earth guys you will ever meet! My Uncle usually is to the far right of the stage next to Jerry Flowers the bassist. My Uncle has long black hair, also plays the mandolin on some songs

  • Hey man appreciate your quick reply. Like yourself I am not much into Tabulator. Now and than I use it as a starting place but usually my ear is what I rely on.

Problem I am having here is this solo can be played in a few different spots and sound ok. But would like to do it the right way.

  • were you going to ever get around to revising the solo part. I don't think it's that off honest. Maybe the first few note . It appears in the video he ends up way down by the 3rd fret on the E and B string/

  • Yes actually I have figured out the proper way. I got it done perfect to how Keith plays it but no I have not made another video yet! I'll work on that!

  • hey man where did u get the wrist band i would love to have one! thanks

  • this is great, helped me out a lot! :)

  • dude you are so talented. I want to thank you for taking the time to do this. really helped me out. Keep it up!!!

  • can you teach us where the black top ends by keith urban!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where did you get the sweatband. I've been looking for one for a year.

  • When you say play an "A" at 3:49, i'm pretty sure he goes into an Em.. other than that nice vid mang

  • I just recently noticed that when I was listening to the song the other day. I play this song as least once a day when I am jamming and I always notice my little mistakes here and there. I'm going to make a revised video soon. After watching Keith front row last week in Philly I finally saw how he plays the solo so I think I got it down!

  • can anyone tab the solo and send it to me

    thanks

  • Adam, Once again really appreciate your help on this. I am wondering if you have ever listened to an Acoustic Intro of this. Keith has one on u-tube but can't tell if the PM is all down stroked or not. Have any ideas ??

  • Adam like I said, wasn't trying to put you down. Just clarifying more for myself than anything. I am 20+ years old than you -but a Keith Fan because you can here the Beatles & Tom Petty Influence in his Music. I was trying to play this from the CD in the 9th and 12 Positions and it just didn't quite sound right. Thanks for clearing it up.

  • Otherwise it's great your just upside down with your string ..Not trying to put you down here. Please don't think that. I was just listening and when you said d in the 7th slide to 11 it sounded like the G string. Which it obviously has to be for the chords your using. D A G in open E

  • Yeah lol, I have it all straightened out now, but nothing I can really do about the video. But thanks for the heads up!

  • thanks alot bro really helped me!!

  • hey Adam

Good Job but your calling a G string a D with the D and A chord and your calling the B string an with your intro in open E G position . I am sure your realize you were just backwards EADGBE

  • Wow great lesson video!! You did a nice job slowing it down and showing us the song. Thanks so much! I just have one issue with the video... I WANT THAT SWEATBAND!!! Ah Keith even TOLD me to my face but then forgot when he was at the other end of the CW. Chris Rodriguez wasn't any help last tour either :/ Hehe.. I'm hoping TOMORROW is the day in Dallas! ;-) Great job on this one though!

  • Thank you so much, learned the whole song exept the solo in like 15 minutes!

  • hey, uh, is it in normal tuning?

  • Yes

  • oh, ok, thanks man, that'll help me a lot!

  • if you ever get a chance tab it out and email it to me.greatly appreciated,

I use tux or guitar pro.

  • I'll look into it lol

  • I'll try this again. somehow I don't htink the postings going through

what chord is it you are playing at the 3:18 mark.. you talk about right before going into the G.

By the way. your is the best I have found .. too many people have posted tabs of this song and obvioulsy have never watched the Keith Urbans video to see how wrong they are.

Ever going to try a lesson Sweet thing???

  • Thanks man! Umm I believe it's a B-minor...

I have done Sweet Thing in another cover video but no lesson. If I get some time this week I'll give it a shot!

  • thanks for the quick response. sorry for my typos in the earlier..now is the chord this...going from thick to thin..

    EA DG B E

    x 2 4 4 3 2

  • Thanks man I have been waiting for this! Do you think you can still tab it please?

  • Hey man if you could still make the tabs, that would be so awesome! love you vid! thanks!

  • just to let you know you have your strings backwards.... it goes from thickest to thinest: EADGBE.....your teaching from thickest : EBGDAD...haha not a huge issue...just letting you know

  • hahaha well I tried, good to know for the next video thank you for the lesson

  • keith urban is the greatest man alive!

he would be very proud of you, spreading the music.. like keith said kids with musical talent should be spending time practicing instead of spending all their time on rock band haha.

except i have no musical talent :(

    but nice work!

  • damn that helps alot
