  • this guy drowns in saliva

  • why would you recommend a square wave ups!?! go for a sine wave model, the square waves will kill a power supply very quickly :(

  • omg i gotta have this!

  • I have one of these and its a life saver, although it is LOUD when the power goes off... it beeps and beeps and beeps until you turn it off

  • @Pwntzyou use the usb cable and software to disable the beeper.

  • It is possible that you could, just because you power supply is rated at 550 watts doesn't always mean your motherboard and components are pulling that much. If I were you, I would go with one of the 650 or 750 watt units he mentioned, because you would have enough run time to shut everything down. If you choose the 550 unit, it might just shut down instantly or run for only a few seconds. If you want to continue working, I would look towards a 1200 va or 1500 va unit.

  • @sirmasterpimp I got a pretty powerful machine with 2 large screens connected to the 550, it lasts about 15 mintes.

  • Miss Logan and old tigerdirect logo

  • old skool logan days ! cool

  • I got 1 of these and at time it beeps and will never end.

  • Do I need this for a laptop?lol

  • i like the way those power plugs look they are like: D= wierd smiley faces :D

  • can i use this with my ps3 system?

  • you probably could use this with your PS3 i wouldn't see why not i use myne for a fan haha

  • no cause the ps3 sucks balls and ass

  • just get an inverter deep cycle battery and charge controller and solar panel

  • The charging circuit on these is basically just a diode. So the battery cooks after about a year. Tripp Lites are about the same. Your only choice if you don't want to put up with changing batteries all the time is to build your own.

  • which port do you connect the cat 5 to usb cable?... there are 3 ports on the UPC .... one is DSL/modem, one is wall outlet and one is data port

  • yea dude, glad i can help

i just dont think people should pay hundreds more just to have their computer automatically do something that you could just as easy. plus the manual option i think is even more secure because im sure vista would find a way to fuck up and there's probably bugs

we had a crap load of power outages, so i got me the cheep one and our power has yet to go out. haha i cant wait for it to go out on me now, ill be ready!

  • Tyler540: Baby chicks say "cheep", things that don't cost very much are 'cheap'

    Take care,

    Stew

  • huh?!?

i dont even care. look, if you want to pay hundreds of more dollars so that your computer can do something you can already do, dont let me get in your way

  • Go to that gray box on the wall with all those black switches inside and find the one for the room that u r using the back up and filp the switch........presto! no more waiting for a poweroutage cause youve just created one!

  • Getting the ones with the USB cables are stupid. They cost more money, and the only time they would come in handy is if your computer is on and you are not at home, and you should never leave your computer on anyways. just get the cheep ones and manually shut your computer down

  • thanks man, i almost bought this

  • Its actually better to leave the pc running. Hard drive spinn up and booting all the time is harder on it than constantly running, especially if your using vista as an os. Vista dont like shuttin down. My pc is 2 years old and runs 24/7, with the occasional restart to end programs that are not in use and it runs great.

  • you are so fucking stupid

    please GFTO all ready

When you computer is on, the CPU is still clocking calculations and it will not last long. And im just guessing on this one, but i tink maybe...just maybe your CPU, motherboard, RAM, Video Cards, and power supply are more important then your hard drive. no one gives a shit about hard drives, but your still full of it because when is stops spinning and the spins again that doent hurt them at all

Please GTFO i know my shit.

  • Shit dude settle down! Looks like somone needs a little anger managment! Hard Drive not important? Well mabye if you got it backed up or mirrored with another HD. Not sure about you but I can just go and buy another cpu, mobo, ram, psu and so on but I cant go to the store and buy another HD with all my data on it just how it was before. But hey you know your shit though, all my pc's are fine and they run none stop. And at idle the cpu is only at 1-5%, I got $4000 in my pc, so it can handle it

  • Well i was assuming that if you would pay hundreds for a product like this^^^^ then you would at least back your data up. Hard Drives are the cheapest computer component.

and im only telling you this because i dont want you to get fried, but it is never safe to run your PC 24/7 no matter how supped up it is

  • na, internet servers run 365 days a year non stop. besides i only need them to run 5 years or so, then i can build a new one. Basicly 3-5 mounths after a pc comes out or is built the hardware is out of date anyways.

  • well hell the pc im on now is my baby and its only 2 yrs old and im planning my new build so ok last at least 3 years ans all is good!

  • wat happens if u have a below requirement power supply?

  • The computer wont run, so if you remove a GPU then it wil run, as that thing hogs up power

  • This thing suppose to shut your computer down when the power goes down. My APC did not do that...

  • Gotta have the usb cable connected from it to your pc. Im running vista premium and dident need to install the software, and it works every time. I have the 650es but dont hink it matters.

  • my computer rebooted yesterday during a lightning storm thank god that i had it connected to a extension chord bay thingie that has some built in stuff that protects it =)

  • nice, all UPS's are pretty much the same MOV, SIDACtor's,thermistors, circuit breaker.. and all are microprocessor based, so you should be covered by any manufacture, ONLY one difference battery back up depends on LOAD and Bat.Ah rating other than that, choose a UPS that fits your wallet. of course this is for consumer level so it should cover a single pc or any other consumer electronic.

  • do you work for Toshiba by any chance?

  • I have an APC smart UPS, but it's an older model. It saved me several times =]

  • cool, that's useful :)
