  • Annoying and slow

  • Might want to try a lower octave..

  • You talk to dolphins with that thing?

  • nice intonation! :) I am in 8th grade and can play up to C#, but it sounds HORRIBLE and I can't even hit it all of the time

    how long did you practice?

  • @Minecrafterrl98 I made altissimo a part of daily practice at age 17; about 10mins each day along with mouthpiece exercises. After a few months I was very comfortable playing notes up to about an A above the normal high F. I started taking private lessons in college when I was 18 years old and I comfortably extended my range up to a double F#. In this video I was almost 19 years old and I am able to reach the double G.

  • i'm about to go into high school and i'm already learning these high notes :D

  • How? How the fuck? Fuck! How? Please. I am about to shoot somebody. That looked so easy. I just needa blow out one freakin' Altissimo note out my ass. I can't. I'm not a beginner; I've been playing for a very long time. I can't do altissimo. I want to destroy everything. I've even tried different mouthpieces. How do you do it? liaghrfgaeerlfhygalergfaelgfr

  • It would sound better in the context of a band, and seriously guys? That's quite hard to play up that high, if he played it down the octave it would be just a f**k easy solo. Kudos to your altissimo.

  • @LucaStamatescu Thank you

  • this really should be played on a soprano sax, or clarinet. impressive altissimo though.

  • Too high sound, my earssssssss!!!

  • wow i just get some humming noises, squeaks (not normal at all) and sometimes make high g. what fingerings do you use?

  • pretty goddamn impressive

  • Really awesome control. I am impresed.

@JRAD4u2nv obviously hasn't developed his ear enough.

  • @confoozled3737 clearly you are incorrect sir. Correct yourself. This is unappealing. It is a demon whistle when played that high. Could sound better on Tenor...

  • @JRAD4u2nv It's certainly a novelty, but one can't say that his control and intonation are bad. He's pretty much beasting.

  • omg

As a saxophonist, this is painful to listen too. It's not that you're bad...but it just sounds terrible that high...

it is my opinion that it would sound better down the octave perhaps.

  • @JRAD4u2nv actually, imagine him perfecting this, and him belting it out in the middle of the song instead of a guitar. I think it'd be WICKED.

  • man that's great control up there. I hope I can do that one day

  • Great job on the solo! That is high! Saxophone is the best!

  • That's high!

  • once you get the hang of it gets easier nice job btw

  • Man I wish I could play altissimo on my alto. Just dont know how to..

    Very nice though.

  • theres plenty of fingering charts online. google them.

  • Its been two months and havent responded. Lol. Well, I have but I also learned many things about the Altissimo range. AND I can play an altissimo G. Yay :P

  • thats great man. the more you practice playing in that range, and adjusting your embouchure to get out certain notes, it'll become so easy. also, practice your chromatic scale regularly because knowing it will make your improvisation while soloing much better.

  • @link5112 it's not that tough to scream out a sweet high G in a jazz solo, but control like that takes a LOT of work

  • Yea I know. The more you practice though the better.
