The thing is, Dawson acted the same way he always did when someone was doing something he didn't want them to do. He issued childish ultimatums, tried to make them pick him, tried to get them to deny what they wanted and needed for his sake. He did it over and over. He even said so himself that he stopped Joey from going to Paris for his sake. He's entitled and a brat.

Dawson's a selfish prick. Pacey was a better person in every way. PJ turned out to be the greatest TV couple. You just have to see some of the chemistry they have especially in season 6. She never had remotely the same chemistry with Dawson

As a published writer I've been educated on how the game works & what drives story-lines. In the simplest terms it's character identification. Assuming your comments are honest they dictate some truths: 1- you identify w/ Pacey or Joey so much you're convinced that's the life you either have or want; 2- you're so UNABLE to identify w/ Dawson that you reject him. Want to talk chemistry, huh? You're talking about the chemistry between yourself & the characters. P/A- they HAD chemistry!

the music during the joey/dawson scene in dawsons bedroom shouldnt have music. the acting can stand without it, and the score (in which the varation of the score isnt very good) only takes away from it. Steady Cam was a good choice though. love the scene, and lovelovelove joey and dawson haha

I actually hate what Andie had to say. She wasn't a part of their friendship until she got to Capeside. She doesn't understand everything and yet she always has to put her two cents in whenever she can. She really didn't need to get into the argument at all. I get she's still upset about her and Pacey breaking up, but she needs to get over it.

No. You can't help who you fall for,it was just unfortuante for Dawson that it was his best friend.

Even without the Joey/Pacey thing,Dawson was a self obsessed narcasist who expected the world to revolve around him and then spat his dummy out when it didn't.

He didn't just dump her and then decide he wanted to be w/her again. I don't remember the episode, but I do recall him being very surprised when she just dumped him one day. No, he shouldn't have given her an ultimatum, but he was a kid. And he was upset.

Dawson was not a narcissist. If anyone was a narcissist, it was Joey!

i get why dawson reacted that way cuz even if you ignore the fact that he obv still cares about joey both of his best friends who he should be able to trust& they lied and went behind his back. add the feeling of being betrayed to the fact that his heart is broken i see why he did what he did. joey had a decision and if she didnt pick pacey thats not dawsons fault even if he gave her the choice of 2 evils. she picked. dawson was so hurt he couldnt be friends w/ her when she was dating pacey.

I've been watching this since it came out when I was still a teen. I never understood how everyone could always treat Pacey as if he meant nothing and wasn't good enough to love. I personally think that he was a good guy that they didn't really give much consideration to. He turned out to be a really great guy, who only wanted the best for those he loved. Case in poin Series Finale. All in all great guy. Dawson turned out okay too.

It a really good idea to build the episode up this way, to emphasize the cataclysmic changes this bodes for the show's characters. A shame, though, that this season seemed to be the peak of the series, and that the writers didn't do the characters justice for the remainder of the show. A big mistake is that they kept a nice array of call-back up until the 4th season and then continutity seemed to go the way of the dodo.

Girlfriends are off limits your average girl is off limits for a certain amount of time a month two maybe longer but true loves first loves the girl that you know that your best friend loves is always of limits. But if he had that little respect for Pacey, as also seen in 303 "None of the above" where Dawson treats him like he never did anything remotely honorable in his life, he should at least tell Pacey that he doesn't respect him so Pacey didn't have to spend years lobbying for Dawson's respect.

Yes he is human, just as Dawson is. I understand and get that Dawson should be want his friends to be happy, they should still understand and realize, that they weren't going to not be able to step on his toes.
