me and my sister rode the revamp a couple of months ago, when we got to the Mexico part and saw the Three Caballeros we pretty much screamed "Panchito!!!!" The other's Jose by the way... :)

Wow; the changes are great! I'm just relieved it's not a complete overhaul; that would be ridiculous. The new figures blend in really well, I think, and I agree; you wouldn't notice them if you weren't looking.

Might want to redesign the Pinocchio puppet, though; it's not that attractive.

i was one of the complainers in the message boards, only cuz i wasnt happy they threw jack sparrow everywhere in potc, one is fine ya know? but now that i see it, its not bad at all, if you didnt know they were disney characters, it wouldnt be an issue, its a perfect fit in there

FYI, Jack is not everywhere in PotC. He makes only 3 (count 'em, THREE) appearances in the whole ride. That ride is basically still the same, so no need to get bent out of shape over that one either.

Not having seen it in person I was pretty upset after seeing a couple videos. After your review I had a good laugh and influenced by your perspective I don't feel so bad about it anymore. Yet, wouldn't it have been cool if they put those shooting gallery games in here like the Toy Story rides where you could shoot the Disney characters out of the scene. Just a thought. By the way the "two birds" with Donald are Poncho and Jose (ala Tiki Room) - both worth 100 points in the shooting gallery.

Meh. The changes aren't as bad as the "Find the Simbas" gimmick they had on the Jungle Cruise a long time ago.

Sure.

"Find the Simbas" was a gimmick that Disneyland in CA had for a very short time. In short, it was just a way to get people to ride.

Basically, the park hid abotu 12 stuffed young Simba toys all over the ride. The riders could count all 12, and at the end of the ride, they had that distinction.

And instead of the adventure guides doing their usual narration, they wouldn't say anything except at certain points in the ride (i.e. the hippos).

So. yeah. pretty lame. I love the ride, but...

I don't think the added in Disney Characters were bad...but I do agree with you that they need to fix up the America section. Its very bland compared to the rest of the ride.
