the guy in front of you looks really slow, you shoulda blew by him. he cant even get his knees down and looks stiff. is he jsut taking it easy or is he just a noob?
Buttonwillow's my favrorite track, liter bike doesn't have much advantage on 600, unlike fontana. btw, isn't 36/34 psi on 2ct for track day a little too high, I'm well over 180lbs with suits and stuff but I'm running 30/29 for track. seems like you are one of the azusa regular too, what color is your bike and what kinda suit? maybe I'll see you up there some time, lol...nice video.
i ran 36f 34r with reg. pilot powers. i go to azusa just about every weekend. i ride a black '06 r6. red/white/black/silver teknic leathers, white puma boots.
my buddy wants to get started as far as going to jennings with me and he said that if i found him a deal he would pay for on of my track days. know anyone wanting to sell boots and or suit size 11 boots and size (US) 46 leathers?
dude you have no idea how much you have helped me. i usually pay about three for regular 2ct's installed fucking thanks man and i got like two or three other buddies that i know, like for fuckin certain that will buy from here. thanks a ton man...... No idea how much you just helped me
i noticed the same when my budy lorenzo started exiting, even though i was in the apex i wanted to be right there with him. so i was thinking rrace pull offs from some one in the b class. but i usually dont see anything that hasnt been heat cycled to hell. i like the way pilots fall over in turns i just dont feel they will be enough for much longer
supercorsas turn in a lot quicker the pilot powers, i found myself turning in way to early on my first session. i just remembered something, check out sportbiketrackgear(dot)com
they have michelins pilot race tires (med. frt/med. rear compounds) for $300 shipped. or you can get a PRC Front, PR4/5 rear for $375 i think. check them out. i was gonna go with those, but i came across the supercorsas for $300 for the set and couldn't pass them up.
nice slicin man what rubber are you runnin and what psi at what temp i have been having problems running better than what i am at now and i think suspension. It is the next mod along with rubber. im still running michelin 2CTs at 32 lbs
and i think its not the power aspect cause i just did velocity stacks, slide stops, power comander, K&N, -1 sprockets (520), and a system but i still cant turn better times.
thanks man. i was on Pirelli Dragon Supercorsas (SC-1 Front/SC-2 Rear in the video. track temps were in the 105+ degrees...HOT!!! it was my first time ever running DOT-Race tires, so i was getting used to them. i've always ran Michelin Pilot Power prior to this trackday (36psi front/34psi rear) with good results. i've been picking up the pace more, so i decided to move up to DOT tires.
that is hot the most we see is like high ninetys. did those tires last the whole day though i know they are softer its just, im not in the position to belch out 500 bucks for a set for one day... well at least 425 ish. its just i dont feel like what i have can keep up. my front end has only dipped once, but just last week i was chasing a couple guys and the back tire stepped out so far that on the exit i actually hit grass. guy behind me said he let off just in case
i've had the rear slide out on me numerous times with pilot powers, mainly when i was getting greedy with the throttle, those tires have taught me to be smooth. the supercorsas i bought were brand new, and have a good 3 trackdays left. you ever think about buying take-offs? you can always try Pirelli Diablo III's. they're dual compound just like 2ct's but a bit stickier from what i hear, my friends like them a lot.
All the R6C guys dicin it up right there. Thats some good shit! Sucks your fuel light went on I woulda loved for you to pass me at one point or another and show me whats up haha.
Hahhaha did you kill a bug at 4:20? how much do track days cost? Im pretty sure your racing against 1000's on your 600? And your still keeping up with them. Imagine you got an R1!
BTW, What mods did you put on your R6? What would you recommend me putting on a GSXR750 (when i get one) for track days? like new pipe, power commander, etc...
lol yeah, that's a bug. as for trackdays, they vary in price, it depends on the track, the date it's being held, and the organization holding the event. there's a few 1000s in there along with some 750s and 600s. power isn't everything though. smaller bikes hold higher corner speed. my bike is an '06 R6, the power mods i have are, BMC Race Air Filter, Full Leo Vince SBK exhaust, and Power Commander.
as for you modding a 750 GSX-R, spend the money on trackdays first, and get used to the power.
oh ok thanks. typically how much are trackdays on average? how much did you pay at cali speedway? and where can i find out when/where there are trackdays?
use the clutch. are you just getting into riding? if so, worry about all of the gadget later and focus on learning how to ride. spend the money on track time and quality gear.
i ride in B, i've done A group once. i've only been riding for 2 yrs. and have only done 5 trackdays, so i still have few things to work on before i bump up to A-Group for good.

oh by the way, what are your thoughts on quick shifters? worth getting or just use the old clutch lol
rush2905 3 years ago
use the clutch. are you just getting into riding? if so, worry about all of the gadget later and focus on learning how to ride. spend the money on track time and quality gear.
lifesuxdie 3 years ago
yea just getting into riding. ok thanks. and i was just wondering what groups you ride in? like A,B or C?
rush2905 3 years ago
i ride in B, i've done A group once. i've only been riding for 2 yrs. and have only done 5 trackdays, so i still have few things to work on before i bump up to A-Group for good.
lifesuxdie 3 years ago
oh cool. arent 600cc's too slow for the A group? When do you plan on getting an R1?
rush2905 3 years ago
like i said before, power isn't everything. you can have 1,000hp on your bike, if you don't know what you're doing you'll be going no-where fast.
i'd rather ride a slow(er) bike fast, then ride a fast(er) bike slow.
i'll get an R1 when i feel i'm pushing my R6 to it's limit, which will probably never happen.
