@genda77 Donkey Kong Racing isn't owned by Rare at all, Nintendo would have been the publisher in that case and Nintendo owns Donkey Kong. Only Rare published games like Perfect Dark and Conker were owned by Rare. Nintendo also let Rare keep Banjo Kazooie even though Nintendo published it...which sucks because Rare is a shell of its former self. Not even the same staff. No Stampers, No Doak

High school wasn't all that fun for me but the Game Cube was a great system to own- Rouge Leader, Eternal Darkness, Animal Crossing, Metroid Prime, Mario Kart Double Dash, and don't forget the Game Boy Player (best accessory ever made for anything). It was too bad Rareware was beginning to fall apart, and their games really showed how poor their status was.

Let's look back to some of the games of that generation.

GTA San Andreas = The best PS2 game... Wanna talk about graphics? They sucked.

Xbox = Halo 2. Graphics? They were good. But not all that great, y'know?

Compare their graphics to Smash Bros, Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 4 or Zelda TP...

The Gamecube was REALLY underrated. It's my favorite console. I still use it. =)

Its true, the GameCube was significantly more powerful then the PS2 and Xbox. However, you really should check out the Jak trilogy on the PS2, amazing platformers that most people can agree to have the PS2's best graphics and generally the best games on the system.

@LikeColdFire ,i agree, just want to comment that the gamecube was not made for games like grand theft auto, halo and such. it was made for nintendo games which were mostly virtual/3 dimensional cartoons (no offense) which were fun as they were. Honestly i think the nintendo games and consoles are just meant for fun, not realism

@LikeColdFire Yes, and look at the very first Final Fantasy... even the most popular, VII, had bad graphics, but they were all great. Look at Final Fantasy now. Great graphics, greater characters and even greater clothes. But their histories are horrible.

The Xbox 360 is mainly designed to break, and then be re bought, meaing more profit for Microsoft. Nintendo has been known for making stable consoles. It's a bit of a debate, but one look at Rogue Squadron, which was a launch game, and it's clear the 'cube is probably ahead of the PS2. The common wisdom is that the GC sat comfortably in the middle between Xbox and PS2. Resident Evil 4 shows what it could do with a more realistic look.

Being a Gamecube fan was tough - there wasn't a whole lot of great support. I remember going to Nintendos Danish website(before the Wii) which looked very cheap and homemade. There was a description of the Gamecube there going something like "a cheap supplement to your other game console".

At least it has some of the greatest games ever made: RE4, WindWaker, Metroid Prime 1 & 2, Eternal Darkness and Melee.
