@jhooks3000 I was using VirtualDJ 5.2 at the time. I don't know how good it works now with the newest version of VDJ and driver since I now longer own the unit, but at that time I had to manually midi map the hercules and disable the "native" mapping for it built into virtualdj. Otherwise it lagged bad. I had the latency set to 1 ms, which is like 8 ms compared to other high end audio cards.
It was the default settings in 5.2, not any custom settings like in VDJ6.x I have no luck other than the default config on 6.x on any midi controller.
Hey DJ Kavika, that is some tight scratching. I also have the RMX and was wondering what you have your sensibility set at on the jogwheels. I have been looking for just the right setting to make it sound like real record scratching, and it seems that you nailed it. Please advise.
i bought one a few months back (used to dj on cdj's) - its very nice to b able to take all ur music wit u wherever u are, good quality, easy to use but i'd recommend u get traktor for it. if ur just lookin for some decent, low priced system - fantastic piece of kit!
What's wrong with VDJ? Traktor is okay I mean if you wanna spend no money on software you can get Mixxx and use that. You have to configure all the buttons though as I wasn't able to find a default setup for it. But hey free is good (be sure to donate). Otherwise the Pro vDJ v6 is the Shhhh, net search is great. I wanna upgrade! :( Maybe next month
You need the Hercules RMX, a laptop with at least 500 mb of memory, a pair of speakers with stands, an amplifier, a good pair of Headphones, and lots of cables (1/4 inch, XLR, etc.) All of those and your good to go.
The RMX is just behind the vestax vci-300 as the best controller out there but if you are just starting out download the free virtual dj yeah you dont have a controller but its fun to start with (which I did) if you have a limited budget (as did I) because the vestax vci-300 is $900 and the RMX is $350 or if you want you could get the numark total control because it has the controller, soundcard, and software for $300 but at that price you should get the RMX because i have it and love it
hey , im Dj Maok and i have work with hercules when i was 10! now i work with my technics turntables or my pioneer single cd players! So i think that hercules its good for learn if you dont use sync! but if you want to be a profesionel dj you dont use hercules! good bye!
This is one of my MANY different mixers I use to DJ around here. I currently use a Korg Zero4, Xone3D, M-Audio Xponent and Hercules MKII. I use all of them to DJ for many clubs around here, so I consider them to be all professional gear- cheap plastic or 20 pounds of metal. Its not about what the tool you use, its about how you use it!
I have CDJ-800's I use with the mixers. Sometimes I just don't feel like carrying all that crap with me, I just bring a controller with me. For the most part, people don't care if you scratch or not. They just want to hear music they like and can dance to. Of course there's always some peckerhead that like, "Oh where's all your stuff? I DJ with this and that." Then my reply is "Where do you work again?"
@djkavika I'm a working dj'n N i get tired of carrying my stuff around but i would never consider buying one of these lil wanna be dj gadgets...its a square box with buttons takes the whole point out of dj'n..... i love my mk2's and serato never would go different.........
@kricotoy You know you can use programs like serato, torq, traktor, and virtual dj with regular turntables? Look those up and become educated, my son.
Man you rock. I've been trying to scratch on the RMX with VDJ6 and I'm having a hell of a time. The crossfader seems weird compared to the mixer I use with my vinyl decks. I tried all 3 settings on it... I dunno. Maybe I just need to practice with it more.
Nice technique with that RMX. Love the fact you didn't play weak ass Club music to showcase it's potenial. Love the scratching. So when you're slip cueing, does it hold the record like real turntables or does hold it for a sec like the MKII then continue to play?
im having a bit of trouble with scratching, people scratch way different like me when i check out other videos. Okay, you load the track on deck A and B. u press play on the B deck, and you use the jogwheel on deck A and the crossfader to scratch? I wont get the same result as others..or did you load up the song on deck A and scratch on deck A?
Hello Kavika, I got my RMX and been trying to use it with my Mac Book Pro for 2 days now. I installed drivers and vdj, i connect the usb to the macbook and i can control vdj with the RMX. However, I hear no sound. Any help you can provide would be appreciated!
hey!! i got the same console if i wanna mix videos on a projector how do i make it to where they will only see the video not my desktop? do u jus connect the projector to my out put on my laptop?
how do you connect this because ive been tryin to connect mines for 3 days n i alot of static comes out, i cant figure out how to hear one song in the headfones and the other out of my speakers
thats the one and only dj heartless for you. you can check out his myspace page. actually i think his myspace is still listed under dj klipse. but check it out, he has some remixes uploaded on there

I noticed that the scratch button isn't on. how are you scratching with this feature turned off? Please respond thanks.

how you scratch if it isn't a touch sensitive jog wheel? because you first have to stop the wheel spinning and then the music stops
