@treeradioproductions Tallan had wanted to get up and pay with Joe for a long time but of course, Joe is travelling the world most of the time. Several days before the show, Tallan told his dad that he was going to get up and play with Joe and his band. His dad tried to reassure him that most likely it would not happen...continued
@treeradioproductions ...however, Tallan remained undeterred. The day of the show the three of us first attended Joe's guitar seminar put on at noon at a local music store. Tallan and Joe had met before and exchanged some conversation. Nothing however, was said about "getting up" to play. I've known Joe for several years now and his shows are very professionally done, he just doesn't "wing" things. That's why it came as such a shock when he asked me to boost Tallan up on stage. :)

@stenchface Yes, it is a Les Paul. Actually, it's Joe's signature model Les Paul. During the last song of the night, he asked me to boost Tallan up on stage when he signaled. When he did, Tallan went over by Joe and Joe and Dave Pate, Joe's guitar tech at the time, strapped Joe's guitar on to Tallan. The rest is shown on the video. This was totally unplanned and Joe normally just doesn't wing something during a show. Needless to say, it was a fabulous ending! :)
@Blues71 That is most excellent! I bet he was uber thrilled :) I have much respect for Tallan, having been brought up with blues (my Dad is massively into his blues) I honestly wish him all the best for his inevitable career playing blues, he's gonna go places :) Just wish I had the dedication to pick my guitar up, haha

All I can say is Tallan, you are awesome, looking forward to seeing what your great and awesome talent brings to you. And what a awesome thing to be able to be on stage with one of the greatest guitar players of our time! Keep on a playing those blues!
what this kid was on americas got talent? and he didnt win or get a chance to perform at the sounds of it? wow. our society is so fucked up. makes me wanna write some letters to some people and give them a piece of my mind. i cant handle it. wow. If that little dude takes requests... get him to a youtube video of "Lenny" by SRV.
@brentgeemn Interesting that you mentioned "Lenny" by SRV. Tallan used to play "Life Without You" a couple of years ago. We were at an outdoor show/event and lots of people had stopped by to see Tallan and his band perform. When he started that song, everyone just froze in their tracks. I've never seen people react quite that way to any song. At the end, people didn't know whether to cry or applaud. It was Fantastic!
he's great..looks like he is getting cues(probably from his dad) when to play his licks...hoping he doesnt go down any wrong paths...def off to a great great start
@TheExplodingPumpkin No he didn't Actually, he and others were passes on to the next round. They all then were flown out to California and split into three groups. Then without even allowing them to perform, Tallan's group was dismissed from the show. Continued...
@TheExplodingPumpkin The word was the show got a lot of flack over doing that, because there were several people, including Tallan, who showed great promise. Very odd indeed, but it didn't affect Tallan at all. He just picked up from where he was and just kept going. That's how my "Little Buddy" does it! :)
people overrate this kid only because he`s 9... but if he was doing that exact same thing at 12 no one would even care... for example, i`m 14 and i can do way better than him... but no one gives a shit!

@bnice12 Joe is singing, "Asking Around For You". He used to close every show with that song. Today, he usually is cosing with, "Just Got Paid", a ZZ Top song. Actually, I saw him a couple of weeks ago in both Green Bay and Milwaukee. At the Green Bay show he and his band came out and played "Just Got Paid" wearing Cheeseheads. Needless to say, it brought the house down! ;) I recorded it and you can find it on YouTube.
@mrsir450 You sir have no Idea about really any part of musicianship, showmanship, or really for that matter even the people your talking about. @mrsir450 it didn't seem that bad...as a matter of fact that's actually the singer's guitar. gibson is selling that exact model, different knobs and all...it's the joe bonamassa model.
Kid you rock with the best of them. dont slow down always strive to be better and don't forget that life is a crazy road so so drive it slow and cool.
@Mrbucketheadman- You're confusing "Blues" as a musical sense with "Blues" as an Emotional one. You do NOT have to feel sad or have the "BLUES" to play. Unlike popular belief. The fact is it just takes Time and Practice. My opinion, "The little guy needs to slow down. Relax. Start slower. Swing with the bandmates, when the Dynamics raise, come in with the "I'm B.B. King" stuff. - The kid DOES without a doubt have great talent.

What a lovely guy to let this young lad go for it like that .Hats off to you Joe not only as a inspiration playing wise but also in a real human way too . Long may you rock !
Fantastic for Joe Bonamssa to let him up on stage. I think this young gentleman has a bright future if he decides to choose Music. He certainly takes it seriously... His passion showed when he was playing.

I just seen this kid perform with Buddy Guy last weekend in Lincoln RI (9/12).. JB is just doing what BB King did for him.. Nice when you don't forget where you came from..
The Grolsch Blues Festival was held this time pretty early in the Year and streched over 2 days,
unfortunately overlapping 1 day with a major dutch blues festival. We missed Eric Sardinas but we could still catch the fabulous T-Birds on the Ribs & Blues Festival on monday Check both Festivals for YT footages.
Hi Martin. Yes, Tallan has played with Walter Trout a couple of times. Actually, Walter has told Tallan's father Carl, anytime he is in town that Tallan should have his guitar along so he can play too. By the way, are you the Martin (mbcl) from Joe Bonamassa's forum?.....Roy
I forgot to point something out that is not totally evident on the video. This little performance by Tallan was unrehearsed and unplanned. I had hoped that Tallan might get a chance to play with Joe and his Band however, it appeared it wouldn't happen. During this last song, Joe leaned over and asked me to boost Tallan up at his signal. Then when the time came I did and then grabbed my video camera. I am so happy to have preserved this moment for a great young man whom I call my friend!....Roy
Thanks Tripsy and Michelle! Yes, it was a great finish to a fantastic and exhausting weekend. I guess I should call it "24 hours of Joe". ;)
And gijszaalberg, Tallan "T-Man" Latz is now 9 years old. He has also played with people like Walter Trout, Albert Cummings and Jackson Browne just to name of few. He's one special little boy and my buddy!.........Roy
After being scolded 2 times to put my camera away I didn't want to risk being told to leave. WOW! I'm so glad you captured this moment Roy!! He's right at home up there. Super cool JB for sharing the stage with T-Man!!!! =)
My next idol!

Hello Roy,
thanks for responding my message.
I´m NOT in any kinda forum,
just a common german blues aficionado
from Lower Saxony.
Check both Festivals for footages.

HI,
i´ve just sen T-Man jamming with Walter Trout on another
YT Video. Great stuff.
We attended a Blues Festival in Schoeppingen/ Germany
2 weeks ago where Joe joined Dana Fuchs on a couple of songs.
Best wishes
