Jansky character was initially not officially hired at the firm. He was brought in by Jack Larkin one of the investment bankers. Jansky was the smartest guy there so they kept him on staff.

David Hewlett is typecast in many roles as the smart guy. He had a recurring role in Kung Fu: The Legend Continues as a computer geek. In Traders, he developed software programs guaranteed to succeed at derivatives trading. And of course on SG-1 he's a brainy scientist. He was good in an 80s movie called PIN where he befriends a doll that was created by a psychiatrist. That was a weird one.

I'm sorry ... I just can't handle DH with a beard .. and eating chocolate while talking ... and balancing donuts on his head ... and playing a kazoo all in one day. I'm only human. There's only so much adorable I can take.
