I've got over a hundred high quailty close up 35mm photos of this band. Most photos were taken at The River Rocks and others were taken at their Great Adventure gig.
Pics include closeups of Joe Z, Scott M, Ken D, Ted Poley and sometimes Bill R.
If any Prophet Band members are interested please contact me.
They really don't play out that much anymore, they're all in their 40's and have jobs and families probably and i doubt they practice anymore as a band. Anyone will loose a little edge as you don't play as much and get older. Back in the early 90's these guys were far and away the best cover band i ever saw.
Kenny is good ... but Edgar Cayce and the rest of those guys always seem to be behind the beat ... they have a weird feel for tempo .. he drums lag .. the Birch Hill bimbos will disagree ... these guys are GOD to the central Jersey crowd... they have the chops but not enough improv ... don't take enough chances... North Jersey/NYC jam bands are the future.
I stumbled on this video...a preserved bit of history. Remember the Raritan Manor? Played w/ Scott and Joe back in '78. Kenny is the best. Scott will be playing w/ Dave DiPietro tonite July 25th 2008 at Rhythms in Manville. They call themselves ....Bombay. 'will see if i can get the camcorder in......
Wow, last time I saw Ken his hair was half way down his back. I remember seeing these guys and Big Richard (TT Quick as a cover band) years ago. Would love to catch them again some time. Do they have a web site?
