Oh wow, my niece was hit by a speeding car at this exact intersection. So I guess I'm glad our tax dollars are going towards making Hampton a safer place to live. Thanks for your video.
Why don't you just let these Officers do their jobs without interfering. Everyone seems to think they are out to make everyone's lives hell but in reality they are there to keep the roads safe and crack down on idiot drivers. We all know there are too many of those on the road. Although I agree some may abuse their power , we need to let them do their jobs.
@KJRace31 What video did you watch? Where was I interfering with any body. Do you realy consider filming from a safe distance interfering? If you pay attention,in all of my video's I never make the initial contact. The LEO's always approach me and make verbal contact. In this video Officer Burkett approached me and started asking questions.I was just going to get some footage from the spot I walked to after getting his name and badge number. I simply film them performing their jobs!
We were out there selling BBQ at the store in 2011 during the Gator Home Football Games we watch them give out 61 tickets one Saturday and almost cause alot wrecks.
@Lauren777Sanders I drove through Hampton twice today.South on my way to Williston and north a few hours later on my way back to Jax.I saw no Hampton PD on either pass through,What gives? Are they really shut down? Can you please give me some info on whether it is really shut down?
I knew this was a speed trap area and still got stopped. Supposedly I was going 66 in a 55mph, and I understand the tickets jump up if you're more than 10mph over. Ticket was $191! This is entrapment for the purpose of generating revenue. If you get caught here you should fight it and file complaints with Florida legislators. The whole thing is a sham and is not what the police are supposed to be doing. The cop was courteous. Fight your ticket fightyourcase or Finebloom & Haenel, P.A.
Wow, never have I heard so many cry bags. Yes, they can sit anywhere they want to. There is no law against that. Everywhere I've been, I have seen cops parked out of the way. If you aren't speeding or breaking the law, then you shouldn't be worried about it. I've seen this "tag team" (as you call it) of cops in Hampton, Starke, Lawtey, Jacksonville, Gainesville, and even out of state. Stop all of your cry baby bullshit and get a life. It's not a "SPEED TRAP" if the speed limit is posted!!!!
The govt has made severe cuts in the financial support of LO agencies everywhere. One area even stated they might not be able to answer 911 calls due to gas $ shortages. This is a prelude to the new government sponsored Civilian Task Force which will replace local law enforcement agencies as we know them now. The training is different than the acadamies and LEO schools we have had up till now. Todays officers probably will not be absorbed into the task force beecause of this new training.
Correct me if I am wrong, but are cops allowed to do this on private property like this one is doing? If I were a business owner I'd tell him to get the hell off.
I am from Keystone (a town or so over) and I had to laugh at this video. When you asked him about his info and then brought up "the law" he gave it to you. I made the 301 track from Gainesville to Jacksonville everyday for a while and I can honestly say, if you don't speed they don't mess with you. They did love those dumpsters at the gas station and across the street in that little park and ride area.
Officer Burkett (sorry if I spelled that wrong) it was good to see you out there yesterday!!!! (12/17/11) Thanks for stopping by to see me! It was fun helping y'all slow people down!Thank you for being cool and not trying to take my camera or any thing.I need some body who is willing to stand on the south side of town to get the north bounders while I get the south bounders.Every body is to scared of you guys though!
And how many cop cars are there at least 6 all brand new. The really crazy thing is if you are hurt or need help ,you wont get them to leave there hide away to help. Bradford cops take care of that. So if you think there is nothing wrong with 3 to 4 cops hiding (behind posters now), and going after people and not ever considering anything but writing a ticket you are crazy. I think that they should not even be considered cops- Real cops are suppose to protect and serve,
As a resident of Hampton, I think the cops of this town is a joke. These cops are only about taking advantage of working class people, the elderly, or out of towners. They sit up there at that store, which technically isnt even the city of Hampton. Yeah it is in the city limits, but maybe for one hundred yards. It is really crazy. Last year alone the cops made @ 270,000 dollars. Where is the money going? Besides a new park, the city is as its always been. And whats the population of Hampton,600!
Do not see anything wrong. You will find cops do this in every state and on every highway. They will hide so you cant see them or you see them when you pass them. Follow the speed limit and if you pass it by 5 or 10 mph depending if its highway or local street I do not think you will be given a ticket. At least not in New York and New Jersey I do not. On Highways speed limit is 65 I always drive 75. On local streets if its 35 I ll drive 40 max. I never got stopped. Maybe I am lucky...
@JokiBroki Hey thanks for the view and comment.I pretty much go by the same rules you do and I've only had one speeding ticket in the last 15 years or so.
@JokiBroki You don't see anything wrong with police hiding? Crooks hide. Isn't prevention the intent, not trapping? I agree people shouldn't be speeding, but we're all sinners. I remember back in the day the police used to leave empty cruisers on the highway median to deter speeders - now they hide behind dumpsters. Real classy.
As a frequent motorist between Jacksonville and Lady Lake (About 20 miles south of Ocala) I can't tell you how right he is on these vids. 301 is the Speed trap capital of the world and most people only think of Lawtey and Waldo, but thats just the beginning. Hampton is terrible, just within the last two years they have added numerous vehicles both marked and UC. His videos are dead on and should not be taken lightly. Great video and good luck getting that red impala on film he's a true stealth.
trash pickin' cop! is this what our judicial system has come down to speed trap's behind garbage they should be fired for entrapment. Oh and they're civil aptitude test is probably an F, you have the right to ask them for that and if they deny they can be fined. Get'em!.
Wait just a minute there is a speed limit sign visible, but it's a speed trap...I guess that must be the New Speak coming out of college these days....
Maybe it's people disregarding the signs, speeding anyway and then whinning like babies because they have to pay a fine...I guess it really depends on your own perspective on the matter.....maybe we can have them dispatch a whaaaaaaaambulance for the speeders who don't understand the sign....hope that helps
Really. Who cares where the cops sit. You shouldn't have a problem with it unless you're speeding. Let them do there job. They aren't bothering you is it?
@MrHotroddoc Your welcome.I guess that's the point of me doing these videos so people don't get looted by the pirates in these towns. But since you have a jammer maybe you should drive through so you can jam their guns.I would love to get that on video if it were some way possible.I just drove through Hampton today and boy were they out in force! I think there is a football game in Gainesville. So they gotta get out there and do some looting!
Where exactly is Hampton, FL??? ......... Oh wait, who gives a shit? Unless you happen to drive fast, I couldn't care less what dumpster they hide behind. You actually think that people care about the exact spot they sit?? What a colossal waste of time ( yours and mine)
LMAO! I really think its funny that you or anyone would spend their time of day filming where cops park to catch speeders, In Hampton of all places. one they were not hidden People can clearly see them if you would stop your speeding. I gave my wife a free time to her self,we had lunch at Arby's,we got some good train footage in Waldo for my son's youtube channel and I got some video for my channel.Oh and for south bound traffic the Hampton police are absolutely hidden from view behind those dumpsters.
@Darktrunksssj45 How do you know the officer in the Black Vic is a D@!# head?Do you have personal experience with him? Notice how I decided to approach officer Berket in the white marked Vic when the Black Vic was off on a speeding stop.I got the vibe not to approach the guy in the Black Vic! Please let me know.
@HONORYOUROATH To be honest I live in Hampton and i work at the local store in Hampton, not the one you stopped at but the other. An update on the dick head, he no longer drivers the black car he has been driving a brown or bronze car. He is tall, bald, and has a really big nose. Best way to describe him.
@Darktrunksssj45 Oh..I have been driving through Lawtey,Waldo, and Hampton for 17 years usually 2 or 3 times per week and not one speeding ticket for me..I just do not believe public safety is the goal of the Lawtey,Waldo or Hampton police.I believe revenue generation and looting the public is there purpose so I expose there tactics on video.Maybe my video's will slow people down and more money will be spent in the Florida economy instead of being confiscated.
@Darktrunksssj45 I just visited your channel....Your 25 years old.You post videos of you playing video games and you give me a hard time about how I spend my time of day?But you know what... good for you, I won't give you a hard time about it.
@HONORYOUROATH 1 i did not mean to give you a hard time, just Hampton is a no where town that's all i can understand waldo and Lawtey since they were the ones that started the damn speeds traps...sorry for coming off like i was giving you a hard time.
@CopBlockDurDeDur I never said speed limits are bad.I just do not believe public safety is the goal of the Lawtey,Waldo or Hampton police.I believe revenue generation and looting the public is there purpose so I expose there tactics on video.Maybe my video's will slow people down and more money will be spent in the Florida economy instead of being confiscated. If you don't like it and don't agree with what I do .....I'm cool with that.
Are you serious? Why aren't they sitting in plain sight? People don't change their behaviors unless they receive negative re-enforcement. Catching people in the act of committing a crime is much more corrective then just saying don't do it. They punish an individual and while they're sitting on the side of the road, they are sitting in plain sight. If you don't want to be pulled over DON'T SPEED! They are honoring their oath by the way!! Pulling people over that cause accidents.
Hey, and this is just an idea.....Don't Speed. It's two syllables, not that hard to comprehend. Im not a cop lover but damn..... you people were probably great window lickers riding the school bus back in the day.
hi i'm from europe and i`m wondering how much margain you've got before they pull you over. Over here it's about 6-8 km/h on the speedo (3.5 to 4.5 mph) above the limit
@350zvince I'm not 100% sure but I think in America they can ticket you for 1mph over. However they usually won't mess with you unless your exceeding the speed limit by 10 or more MPH. IMHO
@guitariano And you know this how? Oh and by the way they don't need a permit only verbal permission from the owner. Smart of the store owner to let the cops stay there. I am sure his store will be the last place that is robbed and he'll get extra business from the officers in his lot.
Ugh...I hate driving through Waldo and Lawtey. I don't even speed, but it is just a damn joke to try and get to Jacksonville from the west coast, because 301 is the quickest way to get there and every single little town along 301 is trying to find anything to pull you over.
@threefortyduster Yeah I know what you mean I have been driving through these towns for years and every time they got somebody pulled over.Ya know... but they do have clearly marked signs for the speed changes. They even have billboards "WARNING SPEED TRAP AHEAD" and knuckle heads still get speeding tickets.Oh well maybe my video's will slow a few people down and save some citizens vacation money.Sigh
Most of the time when they catch up to the speeders and pull them over they are no longer in Hampton city limits or even in Bradford County!Quite a few of the stops occur in Alachua County.I wonder if this is legal?
@HONORYOUROATH: It is legal to pursue into a different jurisdiction as long as the violation occurred in their own. Technically they should be notifying the next county's police department. BTW: How about contacting the dumpster companies or the gas station owner and ask them to move the dumpsters? Or at least can you push them together with a pickup truck at night?
@HONORYOUROATH It's legal. You committed the infraction in their jurisdiction. Most town or coutny officers are sworn in at the state level. Meaning they could technically pull you over anywhere in their state. Otherwise offcers would never pursue a suspect into an ajoining town or state EVER for an infraction in their state or town.
Well that's BS! I hate that crap, in some states it is illegal for them to be able to radar you while you cannot see them. See if this is the case in Florida then call the local PD and report a law violation....
Very true, everything these people think is warped to the point where their thought process is not even based on reality any more. it would be hilarious to get the permission of the gas station owner to picket.
Then you could stand in front of the dumpster with a big sign, something along the line of "Speed Trap Ahead!!".
I wouldn't advise putting the sign in the way of the radar sign though, unless it is your own property.
Some cops would consider that "obstruction of justice"
@PyroPortrayal Yeah I was planning on doing that in Lawtey because they have public sidewalks.I was thinking of a sign that simply says,SPEED TRAP 45MPH.It's all about public safety after all! Even if I only stayed out there for an hour ...maybe on a Saturday, how many tickets would I stop while at the same time getting people to slow down?
@golapd Have you seen my new video "Warning Speed Trap-Operation Booty Saver-Lawtey Florida"? You should love it! Oh and, your a little up tight.....relax a little! Arrested for OBSTRUCTION LOL!
@HONORYOUROATH Thanks for the confirmation that you have no life! You're a total loser man! Sitting on the side of the road with a sign. Wow you are such a tool. I actually feel sorry for you. You not getting enough female attention?
@golapd See I knew you would love that video! And does any guy ever truly get ENOUGH female attention...I think not? LOL! You know your right, I am a tool,I am a looser, and I no I don't have a life.Thank you for feeling sorry for me,but at least I have you to talk to.I think we have made a connection, there seems to be some chemistry between us,some sparks ya know.....will you be my friend or....maybe I wouldn't need to worry about female attention any more if I have you!
@PersonguydudeWB Well technically he is visible. Drivers just aren't paying attention. If the officer can get your vehicle on radar, he has to see your vehicle, which implies its possible for you to see them. Try winning that fight in court. You'll lose!
That would depend on the wording of the law, which I admit I do not know. If the law just left it at "visible" you may be correct. However, if it said something along the lines of "reasonably visible" or "in plain sight", you are wrong. One would need a set of binoculars to see that small slit in between the dumpsters at the maximum distance of that laser gun.
I personally do not believe in the initiation of force, your distaste for peaceful citizens(drivers) disgusts me.
@PersonguydudeWB They were visible and in plain sight! Them hiding behind an object is not out of sight. Especially when they lock them before the vehicle passes. From your point of view what do you want them to do put up a huge sign a mile up the road stating warning police running radar!!? So lasers can lock on to a vehicle 1/4 to 1/2 mile away. Can an officer run radar on a curve in the road? You don't believe in police running radar? Surprising, you must be a habitual speeder!
@PersonguydudeWB A laser is going to have a better range then the naked eye. To your point, officers wouldn't be able to run radar at night because they are technically not in plain site! These officers are in plain sight. You can see them. They aren't hiding behind a brick wall and locking on to vehicles after they pass, they lock on them before they get to where they are. My distaste is for speeders. Your dramatics are hilarious! Speeding causes accidents. Period!
Oh wow, my niece was hit by a speeding car at this exact intersection. So I guess I'm glad our tax dollars are going towards making Hampton a safer place to live. Thanks for your video.

I don't know why that's happening.I was wondering about that my self.

Pulling people over that cause accidents.
golapd 6 months ago
Hey, and this is just an idea.....Don't Speed. It's two syllables, not that hard to comprehend. Im not a cop lover but damn..... you people were probably great window lickers riding the school bus back in the day.
infoshooter 6 months ago
hi i'm from europe and i`m wondering how much margain you've got before they pull you over. Over here it's about 6-8 km/h on the speedo (3.5 to 4.5 mph) above the limit
350zvince 6 months ago
@350zvince I'm not 100% sure but I think in America they can ticket you for 1mph over. However they usually won't mess with you unless your exceeding the speed limit by 10 or more MPH. IMHO

They are illegally conducting police business from a private property, without a permit of the owner.
guitariano 6 months ago
@guitariano And you know this how? Oh and by the way they don't need a permit only verbal permission from the owner. Smart of the store owner to let the cops stay there. I am sure his store will be the last place that is robbed and he'll get extra business from the officers in his lot.

Ugh...I hate driving through Waldo and Lawtey. I don't even speed, but it is just a damn joke to try and get to Jacksonville from the west coast, because 301 is the quickest way to get there and every single little town along 301 is trying to find anything to pull you over.
threefortyduster 6 months ago
@threefortyduster Yeah I know what you mean I have been driving through these towns for years and every time they got somebody pulled over.Ya know... but they do have clearly marked signs for the speed changes. They even have billboards "WARNING SPEED TRAP AHEAD" and knuckle heads still get speeding tickets.Oh well maybe my video's will slow a few people down and save some citizens vacation money.Sigh
HONORYOUROATH 6 months ago
Most of the time when they catch up to the speeders and pull them over they are no longer in Hampton city limits or even in Bradford County!Quite a few of the stops occur in Alachua County.I wonder if this is legal?

@HONORYOUROATH: It is legal to pursue into a different jurisdiction as long as the violation occurred in their own. Technically they should be notifying the next county's police department. BTW: How about contacting the dumpster companies or the gas station owner and ask them to move the dumpsters? Or at least can you push them together with a pickup truck at night?
guitariano 6 months ago
@HONORYOUROATH It's legal. You committed the infraction in their jurisdiction. Most town or coutny officers are sworn in at the state level. Meaning they could technically pull you over anywhere in their state. Otherwise offcers would never pursue a suspect into an ajoining town or state EVER for an infraction in their state or town.
golapd 6 months ago
Well that's BS! I hate that crap, in some states it is illegal for them to be able to radar you while you cannot see them. See if this is the case in Florida then call the local PD and report a law violation....
PersonguydudeWB 6 months ago
@PersonguydudeWB Did you notice the officers question"did you get a speeding ticket?"
Did you notice the officers comment"because your filming us behind the dumpsters"?
He seemed to be concerned that I was busting their practice of hiding behind those dumpsters!
HONORYOUROATH 6 months ago
@HONORYOUROATH
PyroPortrayal 6 months ago
@PyroPortrayal Yeah I was planning on doing that in Lawtey because they have public sidewalks.I was thinking of a sign that simply says,SPEED TRAP 45MPH.It's all about public safety after all! Even if I only stayed out there for an hour ...maybe on a Saturday, how many tickets would I stop while at the same time getting people to slow down?
HONORYOUROATH 6 months ago
@HONORYOUROATH Look up OBSTRUCTION. If you don't want to at least you'll know what you're going to be arrested for before it happens.
golapd 6 months ago
@golapd Have you seen my new video "Warning Speed Trap-Operation Booty Saver-Lawtey Florida"? You should love it! Oh and, your a little up tight.....relax a little! Arrested for OBSTRUCTION LOL!
Waldo and Hampton your next!

@HONORYOUROATH Thanks for the confirmation that you have no life! You're a total loser man! Sitting on the side of the road with a sign. Wow you are such a tool. I actually feel sorry for you. You not getting enough female attention?
golapd 5 months ago
@golapd See I knew you would love that video! And does any guy ever truly get ENOUGH female attention...I think not? LOL! You know your right, I am a tool,I am a looser, and I no I don't have a life.Thank you for feeling sorry for me,but at least I have you to talk to.I think we have made a connection, there seems to be some chemistry between us,some sparks ya know.....will you be my friend or....maybe I wouldn't need to worry about female attention any more if I have you!

@HONORYOUROATH Wow you really needs some help, don't you?
golapd 5 months ago
@PersonguydudeWB Well technically he is visible. Drivers just aren't paying attention. If the officer can get your vehicle on radar, he has to see your vehicle, which implies its possible for you to see them. Try winning that fight in court. You'll lose!
golapd 6 months ago
@golapd
PersonguydudeWB 6 months ago
@PersonguydudeWB They were visible and in plain sight! Them hiding behind an object is not out of sight. Especially when they lock them before the vehicle passes. From your point of view what do you want them to do put up a huge sign a mile up the road stating warning police running radar!!? So lasers can lock on to a vehicle 1/4 to 1/2 mile away. Can an officer run radar on a curve in the road? You don't believe in police running radar? Surprising, you must be a habitual speeder!
golapd 5 months ago
@PersonguydudeWB A laser is going to have a better range then the naked eye. To your point, officers wouldn't be able to run radar at night because they are technically not in plain site! These officers are in plain sight. You can see them. They aren't hiding behind a brick wall and locking on to vehicles after they pass, they lock on them before they get to where they are. My distaste is for speeders. Your dramatics are hilarious! Speeding causes accidents. Period!
