I became instantly endeared to this track as soon as I heard it back in the late 80's. It was part of a mix tape I made for one of my favorite memories back then- the road trip going to a Laurie Anderson show in Iowa City with three of my friends. I looked for it on vinyl for years- no one else had heard of it. It wasn't until the days of the original Napster that I was able to finally get it. I'm glad to see the artists plugging on!
Great song. I really felt the pain of the actor in it. Hopefully he succeeded. Miserable wretch. Too bad the ending is cut off... 'Would love to hear the ending, that last 40 seconds were awesome, it can be heard on the live version here on youtube.
Know how ya feel man. I moved to Pennsyltucky a few years back, and missed BER so bad. Now I'm back and I'll never let it go again. Greatest radio station on Earth!!
I totally loved this song as well. Gotta love bands that find popularity like 15 years after they write the song. Interesting take with the video. Looks like you put a lot of time into this. Keep it up.
When my mom was a DJ in colleGe she played this sonG alot. (Sorry my G key is beinG wierd..) I love this song and I will have to sinG the chorus really loudly in my english class to my evil teacher. (we are doing a HeminGway unit.)
Boy how many memories tied of this song...i was living in upstate NY in early 2000 and this song seemed to be pretty popular with a local radio, it was a horrible time, one of the worst of my life but nonetheless this song is fucking brilliant
I really like this video, really cool imagery, and I like the blood bubling out of your mouth, cool effect! That song is so addictive, it's been in my head over and over since I saw your video at the show. It was so wierd, at the reception I saw this mom with two really young kids watching the video, with the kids just sitting there playing with their toy ponies on the desk, watching you put a gun in your mouth. Very wierd.

The first time I heard this song I was driving across upstate New York in the middle of the night.
Pitch black, trees everywhere.

Hope the band knows that if you really want to die JUST like Hemingway--you'd actually use a double-barrel shotgun, not a pistol.

WBER circa Y2K! The only thing that could make me happier about this video is if it was fallowed by Geggy Tah.

I moved recently from Rochester to Indianapolis and am totally missing WBER on my car radio (Even though I can get it online). This song rocks.
