The tip is, a horse easey can get annoyed or confused, if you say too many cicking noises.. Try fining another methoede, if Zebbadie begins to stop responding on your signals.. He is doing fine here, but, yeh ^^

You need to get her used to it by letting her sniff it and laying it on her back. If she moves away then try to keep it on her. Once she stops then take it off, she will soon see that your not out to hurt her. My arab has also been beaten and is the same. You dont need a whip tp teach them this. I do it with my two 5 years olds just by voice

Aww beautiful pony!!! And horses would go to do the toilet in their bedding anyway, that's just instinct for them. Plus the bedding may have been kept up during the day because the horse may have been going out to the field anyway.

Do you need a crop/whip? Could you just use you hand a bit? Or is that just a bit daft?

and for your info he has a full deep bed of shavings, i muck out every day and because hes been in all day because hes blown his tendons i put the bedding down at night. He dosnt need beding when hes standing in!!

no, the point is that you need less bedding. you should have some flax over the math, so the pee will go under the math and you will only need to take away the poo.

Actually, how do you know that the horse wasn't going out at night and that wasn't a day bed? And horses do the toilet in their bedding anyway, even if it is up it's just instinct.

It is probably more comfortable for some with a thin layer of bedding over the mat, but it doesn't make much difference the pony is standing anyway.

Last thing, the bed may have been put up for the video. =)

yes i think looking at the date i added this that he was in at night and out in the day. I mucked him out and just left a bit for him to wee on because he isnt in in the day and the mats needed to dry.

I dont use a whip i use my hands but i used a whip in this video so i could show the people on hear what to do lol...or i use my foot if i cant be botherd bedning over. Both my 4 year olds do it now..i no longer have this pony

@FreddyOgSigrid I'm so angry of people who 'think' they know it all .We have matting and my pony only goes in at night. We don't use bedding because that's the whole point of putting expensive matting down. Ours is designed so the urine runs down through the gaps in the matting on to concrete which cares the urine into a holding pond.

Im sorry, that is not spanish walk. that is hitting the pony round the legs untill it paws the ground out of frustration. spanish walk should correctly be taught from the ground first but with the opportunity to give the horse space to move forwards. not in a stable. this is cruel not clever

ni but the day he did it he was in so much pain i had 2 lead him home on 3 legs and he wouldnt put it down i thorught it was a tendon but the vet said it might be splints on her broke a tiny bone it the back of his leg but it was so swollen and he was lame faor about 4 weeks and realy realy lame 4 the 1st 2 weeks he wouldnt walk and had to be on box reast
