That dismount is not named after her, that is the compulsory dismount on her compulsory routine, the comaneci dismount is in her optionals routine.

But the dismount at 0:46 isn't the "Comaneci" dismount. That was the dismount in the compulsory uneven bars routine for the 73-76 cycle. The Comaneci dismount is an Underswing (Toe-on) to a 1/2 Twist-off into a Back Salto.

i thought nadia didn't compete in the 1979 world championships (except for beam) because she had a severe wrist injury?

I haven't read all of "Letters to a Young Gymnast"...but I do know that she competed at one championship with a wrist injury and sepsis I believe. She signed herself out of the hospital AMA if I remember correctly...

NADIA COMANECI!!! I used to have a thing for Kerri Strug. I don't know why. Anyways thats cool that your into gymnastics. Gymnastics is one of the few sports that I'll actually whach. I'm not much of a sports fan. Movies and artsy stuff are more my thing.

:) I took gymnastics when I was a kid. Gymnastics, karate, soccer, swimming, track and field (long distance running), archery etc. I couldn't keep up with gymnastics because I moved too often :(
