  • finally a good video showing a replication origin in both directions

  • But all life is dieing any way. Cause you cant do something properly

  • This is more thought-provoking than confusing!

  • wheres the narration

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS TTHIS SHIT! THIS DOES NOT HELP AT ALL

  • Excellent video. Finally an accurate representation of DNA synthesis. Most videos have you assume that there is such thing as a leading and lagging strand. Major misconception. Both strands are copied in opposite directions 3 to 5.

  • well this is wrong.

  • sickk :)

  • wat the hell is happening????!

  • boooo!!

  • i dont think this is right...the laggin strand looks like its doing the same thing as leading which is not true since the lagging strand goes in okazaki fragments

  • no, I think it's right. The red portions are the RNA primers. The Okazaki fragments are the purple section after the primer and up to the point where the helicase jumped in. They're just laying down one fragment, so it's kind of hard to tell. kinda confused me at first.

  • It reads it 3' to 5' and replicates 5' to 3'..

  • Hehe... Is it a program?

  • it doesn't help.

  • this is too confusing!

  • it's a really good vid. an audio narration to it would have been way more helpful.

  • but this video is really like the real replication, all of the other videos shows only one double strand, and this video shows all the bubble

  • thats just poor!!

im sorry, but you cant read anything, your schematic is confusing and tooo small and not all the components are named.

and when am i supposed to SEE that ive got to read from 5 prime to 3 prime??

    it is just POOR, man

  • Where's the helicase? This is confusing.

  • it IS being replicated 5' to 3', you have to think about it relative to the complementary daughter strand. you are confusing it with the parental strand.

  • Fire Angel you are right....very worse video...

  • Emm this has made more confused - I thought DNA was replicated from the 5' to 3' direction, yet this is showing the opppsite....

  • but i have to admit some audio would go a long way...

  • This is actually one of the better uploads I have found on youtube for DNA replication, just pause it when the text appears and it is readable. The video helps demonstrate how Okazaki fragments and leading strands are formed on both strands, most other videos do not point this out and assume you know that.
