Ok here's my take. He's obviously playing the right notes. this is really hard to fake! The notes he's playing are not the same as Steves versions. However the sound is too good for a bedroom etc. I think that he's playing along with a version of the song that HE'S previously recorded. It seems very good. But I believe it may be fake. Try listening to the actualy recording after, sounds exactly like it, no change in tone at all. Just seems to mirror the actual recording too much. The motions are clean and fluid but it just seems so unnatural that it sounds so good. Steve Vai cant even play it exactly how he played it on record because the fluctations of the notes would be different. Idk maybe its just me.
