You are allowed to return if you steal, but the bird attacks you. I know that because I didn't know where I had to pay so I just left... When I finally found it, I gave 100 rupees, which was much more than what was needed. The bird was happy.

LoL you can return after you steal the oil or health potion...you just have to use your shield and block the birds attack and when you get close enough you can refill your bottle or lamp ^.^ thats what i did....stupid bird

for your info you can steal and come back but u will be attacked by the bird, in the end its not worth it.

when you pay your able to get something special :)

No, actually you can steal it, you just have to let the bird kill you then you can go back

Nah you can return he just pecks you. You can defend he pecks for about 20 seconds then gives up. (NOTE USE YOUR SHIELD)
