I remember when I first heard this song...it obviously got pulled from radio at some point for being way too emotional. I cried each time I heard the song, actually "cry" is too simple of a word...I bawled...through the whole song, especially once I knew what it was about. Then the song disappeared. I never forgot about the song, but I just avoided ever looking it up again, until today. Once again it tore me apart but for new reasons. Now I have two children and it hits harder.

My dad was in the military for pretty much my whole life, and there were a lot of times in my life when I thought we'd get the call from the ARMY telling us that he had died. You sang this beautifully and I was crying before the second verse. As much as I liked it though I don't think it's one I can listen to more then once a weak without being reduced to a sobbing mess. Either way thank you for the beautiful, heart wrenching song.
