How do I know, cuz I got a drum set and I've been trying to get this part for a whole year. That's how long it took me to do this. I know he uses the heel-up drumming style instead of heel-down

@DoubleBassFanatiker true, but triggered to shit as well, dave doesnt use trigers, and he can only go soo fast depending on the song. He says he plays at around 210 NATURALLY when he pushes he goes at least 270-290

I dont use them but its basically a little mechanism that goes inside your bass drum or near it. which is is attached too a funky little mixer, and basically whenever you hit the drum, it will always have the exact same sound coming through the speaker. pretty cool, but then ahgain thats just my knowledge, Im willing to be corrected :D

dude, jazz drumming is by far the hardest genre in drumming. If you're a good jazz drummer, you're a super metal drummer.

That doesn't mean jazz is cooler than METAL!!!!!!!.. \m/

jazz: improvising, independance, playing with dynamics.

metal: endurance, speed, power.

these are two very different ways to play the instrument and being good in jazz doesn't make you a good metal drummer as well as the other way around.

Virgil donati is more tech, but not a better drummer. His drum videos are even worse then Mangini's taste wise...

But then again, Dave Lombardo is hardly even more technical then Bostaph. He's just good because he has groove, which most metal drummers don't. Virgil also doesn't.
