Myself being a Mustang guy I enjoy watching LT1 and LS1 fight. But I have to say my friends WS6 LT1 has raced alot of LS1's and only lost to cammed ones. That said he has full bolt-ons. Runs high 12s ins Phx Az. And it is hard to run any decent times in this hot ass place. Seen stock 6.0 GTO's on same night run low 14's.
@Ace28233 GTO's get handed by ws6 all the time, they hook up terrible. ws6 ls1 do not EVER get beat by stock lt1s, NEVER. I'm tired of shenanigans, its a fact.

And I love how the LT1 fans say it has more torque than the LS1. LS1 in '02 was rated at 340 lb./ft. of torque...the LT1 was 325 lb/ft of torque. Also, did i mention the LS1 sounds better?

Considering you seem to know all about these cars what makes an LS1 more reliable than an LT1? The LT1 uses a gen 1 sbc bottom end (which has been around for over 40 years).... Also uses the same fuel injection components as an LS1 does. (Rail, FPR, Injectors) Intake design is actually quite good. Where is the LS1 better in reliability?
very true mine now has full built 4l60e with 1900 stall with lid filter flowmaster and tune with 315 nittos out back and my best is 14.2 6-speed same set up did 13.9

when the 98 camaro z28 came out i test drove one took it on the interstate drove it around town i liked it just didnt impress me over my lt1 with light mods. so kept my lt1. for me just as good just depends on how much money you put in.

A lot of people have said the LS1, if taken care of is very reliable and can regularly last to over 200,000 miles with very few if any problems. A lot of LT1 owners have said the car requires a lot of work after it hits about 100,000 miles, that parts begin to wear out. Let's also not forget the LS1 gets better MPG's, comes with a larger fuel tank, and people have said it's a lot easier to work on and modify

(i'm auto and still have the shit 2.73's) have run door to door with a shit load of stock auto LS1's. just my experience i respect everyone's car. 53 and racing since 1974,

well the heads on ls1 are seperior to the heads on the lt1 and the ls1 doesnt use opti-spark which i heard fails alot. sure the lt1 is torquer but only because it doesnt rev as much as the ls1 does but the ls1 makes up for it at top end
@98camaro1 a well mantained opti wont fail......we can go dyna spark,msd opti.ltcc or acomplete crank trigger system...........AI or LE for our heads...goodbye ls1 ls2 ls6
