  • I have learnd singing this at school with 4 canons - this one sounds better than our version!

Unfortunately the download link links only to a 128Kbit version - unacceptable quality for voice recordings and goof ears.

  • Thank you, and Merry Christmas!!

  • absolutely stunning. Words can not describe the awe I am in listening to this. So amazing thank you for the post.

  • Glory to God in the highest!

  • The same recording in Civ IV! My favorite for this one, too!

  • I feel like 10,000 Angels just shut the entire universe up so they can sing!

  • I cant express the beauty of this song in words, thank you!

  • ~Amen~

  • Are those clouds or hell fire?

  • @ThePainterLecter Not necessarily. It could be the Light of Christ shining through the clouds?

  • Simply Wondeful! All the glory to Lord Jesus! All the victory belongs to Lord Jesus!

  • epic

  • Many composers created great liturgical music, but I think liturgical choral music reached its peak with Palestrina, Josquin, and Brumel.

  • Beautiful. Thank you.

  • Divine

  • Leipzig, Pestinha and Vlaams, this is from Antoine Brumel, from the missa "et Terrae motus"

  • Pestinha92...This is a statue on the bridge at Castel Sant Angelo in Rome

  • je vous invite a allez sur mon blog" ou vous pourrez lire ma biographie forte et émouvante, voir films et animations gratuitement , lire livre , musique ect taper chrétien malgré tout sur google "et cliquer sur le 3eme résultat de la liste"

  • I think this is from Da Palestrina.

  • Please post who composed this lovely setting; the only thing "Gregorian" here is the intonation.

  • And the title, of course.. I wonder whether 9th cty monks would have recognized this as music, let alone as worship. I doubt it. Still beautiful though. It reminds me a lot of the Josquin des Prez "Qui Habitat" recording on YT. Which is totally insane by the way, by any standard - those 1500 composers were pretty wild!

  • wow! the angel with holding the cross is so beautiful. music ,too. tks sharing!

  • Whoa, opened the thread for file sharing and got bombed with popups.

  • The image is very pretty +.+

Anyone can tell me what to type in google so I can get it? :D

  • Gloria! Great :).

  • the picture with thhe angle holding the cross... not to mention the background, absolutely stunning!

  • Is this sung by " Voices Of Ascension" ? They are an absolutely amazing group.

  • No. It's the Tallis Scholars.

  • the best one i've heard is the one that used to be at my church, it's rly fast n upbeat

    gloria (clapclap) gloria (clapclap)

    in excelsus deo

    :D

  • SICK! hahah

  • Polyphonic, I mean =)

  • This is a polophonic version by Antoine Brumel, not gregorian chant. The first words are Gregorian because they are usually sung by the Father alone, and he has not got four voices ;)

  • Thank you so much for sharing this. Peace of Christ be with you all!

  • This is on the game Civilization IV during the medieval era.

  • Wow. What a tribute to Jesus!

  • @GolgothaBurns You only say that because you don't know Him or His joy.

  • @Perktube1 To the entire Holy Trinity. The written prayer glorifies God the Father and His men on Earth, Jesus, Lord, Saint, Lamb, the Highest, with the Holy Spirit

  • I tried clicking on the website to download this song (as mp3) but it doesn't allow me...

It only leads to the website where the words "download" appear but no option.

    I also tried downloading atube.

    please help! Thank you!

  • After going to the link, scroll all the way down. There, between all the ads, you can find a short summary of "times downloaded" etc.

There is also the link to the download, after "Save file to your PC:"

Problem may be, it uses a javascript to open te direct download, so use a browser that is well updated.

If you still can't find it, try using ctrl+f and paste the text "Save file to your PC" in it, and you should see the link, because it's context will be highlighted.

    :) there you go

  • need an MP3 of this plz

  • install the application aTube and download it as an MP3 it's very easy, you can search in Google for the program then just install it. in gllgle search type aTube

    and thatss it.

  • I totally agree. Beeeautiful!! Thanks for sharing the file also!!! i will play it on my wedding.

  • Hi is it legal to download this song through your link? It is lovely.

  • It is amazing.

  • Beautiful Val! TY for sharing it. +++

  • Bellissma la messa "Et ecce terrae motus" di Brumel !!! . Dovrebbero essere gli Huelgas ensamble di Paul Van Nevel.

    Bravissimi.

  • Where can I get a copy of this picture?

  • Polyphony?

  • yea, only the beginning is gregorian. This was done very often, for example, Byrd, and Josquin des Prez do it very well. I recoment that everyone looks into those two.

  • amazing *--*

  • It starts with a short Gregorian Chant verse, and the following is different.

  • wow. what a cool picture..

  • Which angel is depicted in the statue?

  • I´m not sure... but it seems like a Palestrina.

    .

  • This is by Antoine Brumel from Missa "Et ecce terrae motus".

  • To all who understand;

    "Dominus vobiscum".

Yes chanting in Love, Honor, Belief, Praise...of God.

    No juvenile comments please!

  • Et cum spiritu tuo.

  • So THIS is Gregorian Chanting. Never heard lt before. Wonderful!

  • this is NOT Gregorian Chant!!

  • Maybe it's me but why make this beautiful song the starting point of an ugly discussion? All men are equal in the eyes of Gods regardless of race or language, so maybe we can just enjoy the music instead and appreciate it for its obvious magnificence??

  • beautiful!! lovely background pic too

  • Beyond words...

  • Awesome.

  • I sang this once and I have to admit.. they were alot better. haha :P

  • This is so beautiful, it's literally bringing tears to my eyes. Thank you for introducing me to this.

  • dude chill

  • keep working on your english bud. We will try to end our hypocrisy. It doesn't look like google translate is working too well for you.

  • alrightyy. I think we have i misunderstanding. You just pretty much insulted my country. Im not insulting you back. You need to calm down. Im not going to bother and translate what that says. Im guessing its nothing worth reading. I haven't heard "mothertongue" used as an insult. thats quite inventive.

  • We did this kind of music at my former church EVERY SUNDAY. It is hard but fun

  • One of the most incredible 'amen's' in musical history - i love the earthquake mass

  • ...all I can say is...WOW.

  • Wow! Beautiful Chant, just inspireing.

  • From a metal, techno, rave music listener: This music is beautiful !

  • Quiet troll.

  • god brings such peace to my heart

  • truly god is wonderful but do not forget god is as terrible as he is wonderful.

  • Even though i don't believe in god, I LOVE THIS MUSIC and i can't get enough of it :D

  • wonderful

  • STUNNING!!!

  • is so strange that in the name of God so many beutiful things were produced along with the terrible.

  • imperfect humans can corrupt anything...Glory to God in the Highest!

  • no me parece que sea mejor que la de vivaldi(¿esta es la misma pero variada?)

  • si, claro senor! Pero esta no es canto gregoriano....

  • It's simply called Gloria.

  • Sounds like early Renaissance to me... this kind of polyphony started at the time of Gesualdo/Monteverdi.

  • beutiful!!!!!!!

  • very very nice job! prayerfully moving! thank you for sharing!

  • Just fyi, its a polyphony not a gregorian chant :)

    Peace

  • Breathtaking 5/5.

  • What happened to the video? It's gone.

  • Gloria In Excelsis Deo...

Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritus Sanctos. Alleluia! Praise Lord, God Almighty. Amen. God bless you all, and repent, and do the works as our King and Savior Jesus Christ had done on Earth!

  • que magnífica música y que bella imagen. felicitaciones!!!!!

  • if you like music

    try allegri's miserere

  • This is simply stunning. Thankyou so much for putting it on here.

  • Oh yes! I used to have a cd with this piece, it was incredible--how wonderful to find it again!! I must go dream now!

  • wow, this is so amazing, it makes you dream of God

  • How? This is the beautiful praise of our Lord, through the reflection of music, songs, harmony, and chants.

  • It's from Missa Et ecce terrae motus.

    Beautiful music!

  • Or maybe it is on the bridge in front of Castel Sant' Angelo in Rome.

  • I think the statue is in City of Vatican. I think is one of the statues of the great place in front of the Cathedral of St. Peter. On the Brunelleschis colonnade.

  • Anyone know where I could get a version of this in the performance key (Ab major) or a recording in the key of the sheet music at cpdl (C major)

  • Beautiful music!

  • Amazing!

  • What is the name of the statue? I would appreciate an answer.

  • It's definitely a statue of St. Michael. Don't know the specific name or location of it though.

  • "What is the name of the Statue?"...

I don't know the exact name, but I think it is one of the four stationary statues in Rome, this one is holding the Cross itself.

  • This is one of the ten angels at Ponte Sant'Angelo (Bridge of Angels). Each angel holds a symbol of our Lord's passion ... as you may see, this is the Angel with the Cross.

  • Ah, alright.

  • So unbekannt - und sooo wunderschön !

  • Divinely inspired music - exquisite performance!

  • It's the Gloria from Brumel's 'Earthquake Mass'

  • actually this isn't chant at all......the very beginning is an intonation, but the rest is Renaissance polyphony. This is in no way medieval, rather it declares the middle ages, and the art of chant dead.

  • boah wasn schlauer damoose doch ist, jetzt wissen wir alle dass auch er musik in der schule hatte ich mein das haben wir in der 7 gelernt
