And the title, of course.. I wonder whether 9th cty monks would have recognized this as music, let alone as worship. I doubt it. Still beautiful though. It reminds me a lot of the Josquin des Prez "Qui Habitat" recording on YT. Which is totally insane by the way, by any standard - those 1500 composers were pretty wild!
This is a polophonic version by Antoine Brumel, not gregorian chant. The first words are Gregorian because they are usually sung by the Father alone, and he has not got four voices ;)
@Perktube1 To the entire Holy Trinity. The written prayer glorifies God the Father and His men on Earth, Jesus, Lord, Saint, Lamb, the Highest, with the Holy Spirit

yea, only the beginning is gregorian. This was done very often, for example, Byrd, and Josquin des Prez do it very well. I recoment that everyone looks into those two.
Maybe it's me but why make this beautiful song the starting point of an ugly discussion? All men are equal in the eyes of Gods regardless of race or language, so maybe we can just enjoy the music instead and appreciate it for its obvious magnificence??
