I would expect a "scientist" to know: Roundup use has gone up, in part b/c it has displaced much less environmentally friendly herbicides (it degrades rapidly- read the literature). In perennial crops like alfalfa overall herbicide use has decreased because the plants are able to establish a better stand and the weeds can't compete. GM crops have resulted in dramatic reductions in insecticide use as well, all of which = higher yields on a smaller footprint= good for the environment.

I will be sure to tell others about this,but I personally do not use any kind of pesticides.I prefer buying ladybugs, preying mantises,and spraying ivory soap on my plants when necessary.I have a book by Jerry Baker that has helped me solve a lot of garden problems using simple household products combined in various ways to suit my desired results. . Marketing sterile seeds is criminal in my eyes as a start so I do agree, we should start boycotting All of these bullies,especially Monsanto.
