i did the same thing and saved 57K gil and 70K cp and had 90 INCENTIVE CHIPS leftover...... but i had to start over in chapter 11 in the taejin tower :I
i did this and leveled up lots of weapons later on in the game. saved up 57K gil, and 70K cp too....... but i still fucked up and had to start the game over by chapter 11 :I
theirs another better spot at chapter 9 which they almost everytime drop an incentive chip. and give you 500 cps for each battle if you are lucky you can get 30k cp and 50 incentive chips in 1 hour
are there any places in ch. 10 to do this? I was too weak to defeat Dhaka, and my game keeps freezing right after the 1st battle in the frozen lake. The only other saves I have after ch. 2 are in ch. 10. Please respond, I need a lot of help
ya i thought this was a good idea too, it sort of wasted my time. You really dont need to farm until later, all enemies around this part of the game are easy without this.
If you want to farm for gil before ingots in ch 11 then stay in ch 9 for a while. There is a part where you fight those same thigns but they drop the chips a lot more. They also constantly spawn if you go in and out of the airship.
plus, if you get a little past this part 160cp is close to useless.. so just keep playing
Its a catch-22 (aka dilemma, conundrum) The efficient way is to buy components but unfortunately the only 2 items that give you a lot of gil are Gold Nuggets and Platinum Ignots. One of them involves trekking on a chocobo (still chance based) The other involves a high level party (still chance based). The crappy but consistent solution? find the mission marks that are easy to defeat but also give items that sell for a lot of gil.
I'm so happy I saw this. I JUST got to Chapter 7 last night at the very beginning I was farming a retarded bike and a few tool soldiers. Best Youtube vid for FF13 early farming. Side note, I love the sarcasm and sense of humor it's a lot like mine haha :D
i no that this is a great idea. but an even better idea would be to stockpile the items, but leave off on weapon upgrading until after you've gotten access to the creature comforts shop from defeating the boss of that chapter. that way you can buy cheap biologicals along with the turbojets and speed up the upgrade process even more
I know a better place actually. It's after this I think. There's a corridor full of people who drop these. You just run back and forth and you can get 20-30k in one go, which is pretty awesome.
Sweeet thanks for the post, this game is actually harder than the other ones cause its either three to the party or just two. also some of these creatures or monsters are bloody hard, pay back is a.........
you know dude this isn't a bad idea think im gonna try it out on a older file even tho im in like gran pulse now unless you have a better method for those that are in gran pulse
Not too bad for early grinding. But the best time is definitely late game, or even post-game. For example, **SPOILER ALERT** in Eden (Chapter 13), there will be this hall way where you can fight the Sacrifice Cei'th. Their common drop is a Perfume (sells for 15k Gil), and rare drop is Scarletite (sells for 7k Gil I think). The best part, you can warp to Orphan's Cradle, fight more of them, warp back to Eden, back and forth. Equip a Collector and Connoisseur catalog for the best returns.
gj i noticed this before but i recentley started the game again cause i was too weak to fight monsters in chapter 11 so this is good stuff im finising all my crystarium i dont think im gonna leave this place.
@litdan u wasted ur time...it happened to me too...but i chose to stick with it,,,all i did was retrace myself back as far as i can....and i was able to fight a bit weaker yet still strong, enough level for my characters to kill them....and if you pass chapter 11...theres a great spot for levelin...and making a lot more money that you could in that place...drops platinum ingot which sells 150000 and incentive chips...and its more frequent and high probability drop rate....
For beginners. At the beginning of chapter 5 you can farm from the frag leeches. Just kill em and ride the elevator up then back down to respawn them. Quick EXP.
I got gladius sword for lighting at level 10 already in chapter 5. quick kills with it is fun.
1. You cannot go back to this place if you've already passed it.
2. This is a completely viable way to make a profit, and no matter HOW you look at it, it's one of the eaisest, more sure ways to do it that don't require much, if any preparation.
3. The CP you earn while grinding here is a bonus on top of leveling your weapons and making the gil, your characters get stronger as you spend the CP.
@UltimateAnimeGamer well if u havent got past ch9 by the time you read this theres a good spot to do this as well. 749 cp every fight, spoils would be phoenix down icentive chip (w.e i cant spell), and credit chips, all kinda depends on if the games in a giving mood lol
Actually, the BEST grinding spot is 2 chapters over . . . Chapter 9.You'll bet in this realy long hallway on the Palamecia and if you battle Psicom people you get 2-3 Incentive chips PER battle. It is really short to just get your whole team to One-star in about 2-4 hours, if you do the following things.
1) buy a ton of wicked fangs with all the money sold with incentive chips
2) buy some stuff from lenoras garage (again from money by incentives)
@Killaninjuh Wicked fangs? no the best multipler (at that point) is either vibrant ooze or barbed tails they give you about 20 exp for EACH ONE grinding up to x3 would only need 20-30 of one of them
@Killaninjuh It's funny I farmed here in the video and the place you're talking about. Also when Snow reunites with hope for the first time. I grinded in all of those places till I got bored and advanced the story I got many weapon upgrades and even upgraded vanille's weapon to a tier 2. Yet it's still not enough lol. The amount of gil you need in this game is so ridiculous lol.
@Killaninjuh Actually, the BEST grinding spot is pre-post-game in chapter 13. Where you are in the place with the two packs of sacrifice, a pack of 3 and a pack of 4. This has the best potential to get the most Gil.
despite realising i could beat up hoplites like mad in ch 11 i still didn't regret grinding in this spot, i get so annoyed when going up against bosses and it takes like 10 mins of my time, i play this game for the story mainly and it's unfortunate you must grind in ch 11 to even walk anywhere without dying.
here's a quick level tip, use 36 sturdy bones or 36 barbed tails or 36 Vibrant Oozes or 24 Otherwordly bones or 24 Diabolic Tails or 24 Transparent Oozes to get an instant 3x EXP bonus. then use EXP componets like bomb cores, tesla turbines, turboprop, particle accelerator, chobham armor and some others to level your accessories and weapons. u can thank me later
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW! how can I miss such an oppurtunity T__T when I play this again I will make sure I grind here T___T fighting barthandelus 2 right now :/
I did this and it paid off but grinding on the Palmecia is even better and your chances of getting incentive chips and credit chips is much higher. Plus you can get super conductors from the vikings.
I doubt you'll beat mission 51 without upgrading your weapon and before beating the game. You'll definitly need atleast maxed out Venus Gospel and a lvl100 Omega weapon to have no dificults in this fight.
@Hamstergeval I beat mission 51 before beating the game, took a few tries with luck, but wasn't that difficult. I also hardly upgraded my weapons (sitll tier one at the time). Now if you want to 5 star this guy then yes you'll be forced to upgrade at least.
If I was to give an awesome tip...do not level up your weapons until the end of the game. You can get much better items to sell for mad gil (like the platinum ingot for 150k and little effort), and buy much better items for upgrading weapons (a max of like 300,000+ xp using just that one item you sold for 150k) This'll save you endless time ^_- Look up farming Adamantoise for further details ^_^
bwahahah, if you buy a speed sash at leviathan's plaza, upgrade it to energy sash and dismantle it, ~100k, you can get ethersol, now kill the adamantoise there by summoning hecatonchier and casting death, platnum ingot sells for 150k+ with a solid drop rate with the correct catalogs. better CP, Gil, and possible rewards(Trapezohedron anyone?)
@swaymone Bullshit. I farmed the Palamecia after grinding this place for a while. Despite being ahead the mobs there were still too strong and the frequency of combat was more limited, as was the duration of each encounter.
@utterlyherolike Crystogen's collect much faster on the Palamecia and the fights are much more plentiful and convenient. If your Fang's a Saboteur, Hope's a Ravager, and Lightning a Commando you should have no problem in the Hull of the ship.Huntress' put out Incentive Chips like crazy.
i noticed this early on in the game since i was getting the items, but i saved farming for the adamantoise at ch 12. currently cant get the last paradigm upgrade -.- stuck with 500k+ cp on ea char lolz
@valleyshrew So you're saying I'm wasting my time grinding in chapter 10? I think it's odd that they would release a game that you can get through the main storyline without upgrading, but you need to upgrade for the side missions. Maybe I'll understand better once I get to chapter 11
Actually...This is a Good Placec to grind..Until you lvl your weapons to *. Then its a waste of time..because by then you should have a good amount of CP that will give you strength..to Grind with EASE in the next chapter... Up on the ship.. They Drop Incentive Chips ALOT more FREQUENTLY....and credit chips add up here and their as well. Once you get to the ship...your really thinking...What a waste of time..it was Grinding for Cash when i could have done it on the ship a lot faster.
i beat the game and still trying to get most of the achievements for it. but some of them will take so long and take so much grinding that i don't even feel like doing it. but i'll get through it somehow.
In Oerda if you help repair vannille's little robot, you get two compact reactors or something, use these with an EXP boost and you get 120k exp per reactor. ONLY DO THIS AFTER UPGRADING YOUR WEAPONS! I found out that doing it before will onnly get you to lvl 20 something, but after transforming lightnings gladius it went from lvl 21 to 42 with the other reactor I had left over, her str is now at 900 something without using str 100 bangles :D Give it a go.
im a little worried im on chapter 9 in hopes house and i still have the default weapons and i have hardly any accessories will i struggle later on also i dont know any decent weapons to buy
I did the same thing in this chapter and the next one with Sazh and Vanille..Ended up with 80k CP. Waiting for the next chapter to finish leveling up weapons to star rank and beyond.
Chapter Nine is better for gil farming, but this spot doesn't suck. I don't know why you guys only get 1 incentive chip an hour. I was getting an Incentive chip or two Credit Chips every single fight. I only got maybe 5 phoenix downs. Although, Chapter nine is better for gil, and Chapter 11 for CP. I'm still in Chapter 11 doing the sidemissions, so havn't seen anything farther yet. Warning: Chapter 11 doesn't have much gil to be found (or so I've seen). Stock up plenty before coming.
Ch 9 onboard the Palamecia is the best, the crew corridor and the last batch of guys be4 entering the corridors make good XP and incentive/credit chips. Lookin at 482-749 exp from various groups of enemies.
LOL you level up soooo much faster if you just continue with the game, think about it, in the time you spent here, you could have gotten hundreds-of thousands of CP near the end of the game, and a lot more Gil.. Just a few hours after this point you could easily make several times as much money and CP.
@dragonkurt1 Well your an idiot, Grinding here means you'll get all the CP you got there + All those hundreds of thousands you got with story anyway... Whole fucking purpose of farming now, to get more cp/gil/items and have better stats when doing story.
Well then you must be a retard because I rushes through the game, and at the begginning of chapter 11, which is not far away, you get 6 times as much at the begginning of the chapter. At the begginning of chapter 11, the cp cost for a new skill goes up to 4000 and higher. I could kill these creatures easily just by rushing through the game getting all items. It's like you've never played the game, don't reply if you can't even make sense.
I'VE BEEN RUNNING every chance i get, i want to skip the story as fast as possible to have some freedom in this damn game 20+ hours and still in chapter 10 LINEAR AS FUCK
Yeah I'm really good at paradigm, but there is going to be a time that even if you stagger, debuff the enemy, and bufff yourself you can have trouble, and there will be enemies that require you to not use buffs or debuffs.
To each their own, though. You could probably go to the best grinding spot in the game before you need to start getting lods of CP.
@KyuubiFSi because you spent hours grinding, unlike me i was running as much as i could, i hate to be force to do something i don't want to do especially in an rpg
@rarezas1959 Despite it being linear, it's a fantastic gaming experience. There are plenty of other RPGs that have maps with 50 towns that take you 900 game hours to get to. You damn traditionalist! :)
@raveoncloud9 yea except later in the game your 3rd Tier weapons will take forever to level even with x3 and CP items start costing 30k, 60k, and 120k CP
yeah but if u caNT fight that turtle yet..... thats not a good option now is it? look at the hp he has he will die so fast. so i think this is good in the early stages but i think u dont need much of grinding until chapter 11
You should only really dismantle a weapon until you've upgraded it to its ultimate form, that way you can get some tetrahedrons, which are very rare and are needed to creat ultimate weapons. Otherwise you lose out. Keep all weapons for the beginning just in case.
I went around that apt. like 67 times to gain CP I had so much I did not even need to use them but the further you go in the game it seem like 56,000 CP gets you no where it eat's them up.
A lot of it comes down to luck as well guys, at first i was thinking what the fuck is this. Then i started chaining the weaker guys and was getting incentive chips almost every second battle.
This is a helpful spot if you have 4 or 5 hours to waste and definitely helps later on.
the ones at the left(if you see from the savepoint) are the easier to beat up.
beat them then go to the treasure which is deep down the hallway and the psicom soldiers should be respawned. do this until you're bored, then sell their loots.
if you want to upgrade your weapons fastly, buy 40 fangs in order to have X3 exp. then buy 99 polymer emulsion(ratio is 0.96) and there you have powerful weapons in no time.
i did the same thing and saved 57K gil and 70K cp and had 90 INCENTIVE CHIPS leftover...... but i had to start over in chapter 11 in the taejin tower :I

@VoreTechz
I doubt you'll beat mission 51 without upgrading your weapon and before beating the game. You'll definitly need atleast maxed out Venus Gospel and a lvl100 Omega weapon to have no dificults in this fight.
Hamstergeval 1 year ago
@Hamstergeval I beat mission 51 before beating the game, took a few tries with luck, but wasn't that difficult. I also hardly upgraded my weapons (sitll tier one at the time). Now if you want to 5 star this guy then yes you'll be forced to upgrade at least.

@VoreTechz I think that only counts for people who don't want a 100% completion.

What did you buy to level fangs weapon from 4 to 21
Rizeawake 1 year ago
If I was to give an awesome tip...do not level up your weapons until the end of the game. You can get much better items to sell for mad gil (like the platinum ingot for 150k and little effort), and buy much better items for upgrading weapons (a max of like 300,000+ xp using just that one item you sold for 150k) This'll save you endless time ^_- Look up farming Adamantoise for further details ^_^
Marshman050 1 year ago
bwahahah, if you buy a speed sash at leviathan's plaza, upgrade it to energy sash and dismantle it, ~100k, you can get ethersol, now kill the adamantoise there by summoning hecatonchier and casting death, platnum ingot sells for 150k+ with a solid drop rate with the correct catalogs. better CP, Gil, and possible rewards(Trapezohedron anyone?)

@swaymone Bullshit. I farmed the Palamecia after grinding this place for a while. Despite being ahead the mobs there were still too strong and the frequency of combat was more limited, as was the duration of each encounter.
utterlyherolike 1 year ago
@utterlyherolike Crystogen's collect much faster on the Palamecia and the fights are much more plentiful and convenient. If your Fang's a Saboteur, Hope's a Ravager, and Lightning a Commando you should have no problem in the Hull of the ship.Huntress' put out Incentive Chips like crazy.
swaymone 1 year ago
at this point what is component taht i gives you the most exp?
zengzhu 1 year ago
i noticed this early on in the game since i was getting the items, but i saved farming for the adamantoise at ch 12. currently cant get the last paradigm upgrade -.- stuck with 500k+ cp on ea char lolz
IchigoHollowfied 1 year ago
@valleyshrew So you're saying I'm wasting my time grinding in chapter 10? I think it's odd that they would release a game that you can get through the main storyline without upgrading, but you need to upgrade for the side missions. Maybe I'll understand better once I get to chapter 11
nursenutzz 1 year ago
@valleyshrew so true i'm grinding at chapter 12, its so great
rarezas1959 1 year ago
Actually...This is a Good Placec to grind..Until you lvl your weapons to *. Then its a waste of time..because by then you should have a good amount of CP that will give you strength..to Grind with EASE in the next chapter... Up on the ship.. They Drop Incentive Chips ALOT more FREQUENTLY....and credit chips add up here and their as well. Once you get to the ship...your really thinking...What a waste of time..it was Grinding for Cash when i could have done it on the ship a lot faster.

I did the same thing in this chapter and the next one with Sazh and Vanille..Ended up with 80k CP. Waiting for the next chapter to finish leveling up weapons to star rank and beyond.
Autobot175 1 year ago
in ch 11-12 70k CP is like 5 battles...
I'd stock up more on Gil than Cp.
you dont have to stay in one place forever
voiceinnside 1 year ago
Chapter Nine is better for gil farming, but this spot doesn't suck. I don't know why you guys only get 1 incentive chip an hour. I was getting an Incentive chip or two Credit Chips every single fight. I only got maybe 5 phoenix downs. Although, Chapter nine is better for gil, and Chapter 11 for CP. I'm still in Chapter 11 doing the sidemissions, so havn't seen anything farther yet. Warning: Chapter 11 doesn't have much gil to be found (or so I've seen). Stock up plenty before coming.
SnowflakeSVK 1 year ago
Ch 9 onboard the Palamecia is the best, the crew corridor and the last batch of guys be4 entering the corridors make good XP and incentive/credit chips. Lookin at 482-749 exp from various groups of enemies.
jakethemistake19 1 year ago
LOL you level up soooo much faster if you just continue with the game, think about it, in the time you spent here, you could have gotten hundreds-of thousands of CP near the end of the game, and a lot more Gil.. Just a few hours after this point you could easily make several times as much money and CP.
dragonkurt1 1 year ago
@dragonkurt1 Well your an idiot, Grinding here means you'll get all the CP you got there + All those hundreds of thousands you got with story anyway... Whole fucking purpose of farming now, to get more cp/gil/items and have better stats when doing story.
TheeFreakiishlyz 1 year ago
Well then you must be a retard because I rushes through the game, and at the begginning of chapter 11, which is not far away, you get 6 times as much at the begginning of the chapter. At the begginning of chapter 11, the cp cost for a new skill goes up to 4000 and higher. I could kill these creatures easily just by rushing through the game getting all items. It's like you've never played the game, don't reply if you can't even make sense.

I'VE BEEN RUNNING every chance i get, i want to skip the story as fast as possible to have some freedom in this damn game 20+ hours and still in chapter 10 LINEAR AS FUCK
rarezas1959 1 year ago
don't worry your going to be in an open world soon enough.
Running is stupid though, you will be screwed unless you start grinding
DJS12345678 1 year ago
i haven't needed, i'm good at defeating enemies, paradigm is all i can say
rarezas1959 1 year ago
Yeah I'm really good at paradigm, but there is going to be a time that even if you stagger, debuff the enemy, and bufff yourself you can have trouble, and there will be enemies that require you to not use buffs or debuffs.
To each their own, though. You could probably go to the best grinding spot in the game before you need to start getting lods of CP.
DJS12345678 1 year ago
@DJS12345678 i already beat Barthandelus he was pretty hard, i would say the hardest boss i have encounter, boy oh boy if it wasn't for odin

@rarezas1959 Despite it being linear, it's a fantastic gaming experience. There are plenty of other RPGs that have maps with 50 towns that take you 900 game hours to get to. You damn traditionalist! :)

nursenutzz 1 year ago
@nursenutzz good so we agreed in one thing, but still right after all that is over it returns to the old final fantasy style, level up
rarezas1959 1 year ago
@dragonkurt1 maybe hes doing this so when he gets to the end of the game it will be easier
goffy112 1 year ago
The best place to train is chapter 11, you can rush everything up to that point and make a lot more easy CP there.
kurtsaidwhat 1 year ago
Did this for awhile, ended up leveling everyone's weapon to 1 star, 70k CP leftover, and 40k gil to mess with.
raveoncloud9 1 year ago 8
@raveoncloud9 yea except later in the game your 3rd Tier weapons will take forever to level even with x3 and CP items start costing 30k, 60k, and 120k CP

ButtErBaLL619 1 year ago
What is better to do with weapons you don't really need? Is it better to sell them or dismantle them?
MrKennyBones 1 year ago
You should only really dismantle a weapon until you've upgraded it to its ultimate form, that way you can get some tetrahedrons, which are very rare and are needed to creat ultimate weapons. Otherwise you lose out. Keep all weapons for the beginning just in case.

I went around that apt. like 67 times to gain CP I had so much I did not even need to use them but the further you go in the game it seem like 56,000 CP gets you no where it eat's them up.
hybridroswell 1 year ago
there is a way better spot to power level in the next chapter with 645 cp per battle
TheYardbird13 1 year ago
A lot of it comes down to luck as well guys, at first i was thinking what the fuck is this. Then i started chaining the weaker guys and was getting incentive chips almost every second battle.
This is a helpful spot if you have 4 or 5 hours to waste and definitely helps later on.
amark0v 1 year ago
it is funny for me that at this point in the game i had for lightning a lv 25 glaidus
but still could rarely get 5 stars
port274 1 year ago
@port274
The better your blade, the harder it is to get a good rank.
I nearly always get 5 stars with my lvl 1 weapons.
Unknwnwrrior 1 year ago
so u need phoenix downs to do this?
ADcoolboy 1 year ago
You don't. But you can either keep them (if you find that you need to use them a lot) or vendor them too. They sell back for 500 gil.
utterlyherolike 1 year ago
try to beat them within 30 seconds and get a five stars rating, it'll increase your chances to get a loot.
ren92120 1 year ago
it works, you just need to be patient.
the ones at the left(if you see from the savepoint) are the easier to beat up.
beat them then go to the treasure which is deep down the hallway and the psicom soldiers should be respawned. do this until you're bored, then sell their loots.
if you want to upgrade your weapons fastly, buy 40 fangs in order to have X3 exp. then buy 99 polymer emulsion(ratio is 0.96) and there you have powerful weapons in no time.
ren92120 1 year ago
