i think the best way to relax any rabbit is to put them in a clean secluded home, quiet, calm, plenty of food, fellow rabbits, plenty of room and hiding spots, and no sudden movements.....and if you sit still long enough, they'll even jump on your lap and lick your face
Tonic immobility (TI) is a state of motor inhibition that can occur in prey animals as a last defence against a predator. The rabbit will lie still on its back, giving the impression of being already dead and encouraging the predator to release its grip, giving the rabbit a chance to escape.
TI is commonly referred to as trancing or hypnotising. It was previously thought to relax the rabbit but this has been widely discredited, studies show increased heart rate, respiration and blood pressure.
@w126fan was soll daran tierquälerei sein? man dreht den Hasen auf den Rücken bis er ruhig wird und dann bleiben die so das geht mit JEDEM Hasen/Kaninchen und das tut denen doch nciht weh, OMG
I realise people don't mean any harm but... Rabbits in this state are not relaxed. They are put into a catatonic state of terror and show racing heart, higher stress hormones, etc compatible with acute fear. (*McBride et al., (2007),Hypnosis: A State of Fear or Pleasure?, Proceedings of the CABTSG Study Day 2007, 38-40.). Please think twice or thrice before doing this. Moreover I know of a rabbit which died from repeated trancing.

i have 28 rabbits and im very educated. and you dont no shit bout rabbits. and there is nothing wrong with doing this, in fact it can even be good for them it realses stress and helps slow down heart rate when there scared. Rabbits have a nerve on the back of there neck and when they are on there back and they put pressure on it they simply relax.
stpuid ass. dont say shit whem you dont know what your talking about.
@GamesRule14 you really shouldn't call people dumb or ignorant when you don't know how to spell....it makes you look stupid. And as if a rabbit lover would take a word of advice from a rabbit hater....you don't know anything but how to talk crap....
you might do it differently but here is my method.
put one hand on his back and the other underneath him (his stomach)
then slowly turn him upside down and rub his/her tummy for a bit then slowly take your hands away from the rabbit and hopefully it stays hypnotised./playing dead.
