@MrAmanitaMuscaria haha, i definitely agree. Check out the channel "ACDRecording" for my latest sound engineering/video projects. I play guitar/drums/piano/violin and whatnot.
dude, dont stop playing in the middlie of the solo.....gareed that Gilmour uses a delay so in his solo he has pauses, but since u aren't using one dont just stop in the middle of the solo
I think that you have to buy a rack system for realize this song at max, i don't like boss-mutieffects in general because I think that this multieffect take off a lot of original sound of your guitar
Keep up the good work. I would suggest since you have humbuckers that you use the patch in bank 27 - 4 "Lp to ST" to make your humbuckers sound like a single coil stratocaster. Then, turn on the delay. You will be surprised how close to DG's sound that this patch configuration comes.
Practice your bends and string vibrato to become proficent at achieveing note accuracy as you bend.
by the way... learn how to play the second solo... is not a big deal, dont improvise only if you know how to do it, it sounds good, but it seems like u should invest more money in musical education than spending in expensive equipment... (i mean... first learn how to play guitar and then buy a gt10 and a ibañez guitar...)
what the hell is that... first of all playing the INTRO you SHOULD start with a fade out, in B and D# (if you have a GT10 you can do it) then during the verse part, u play between B and C with the tremolo bar, THEN u play some chords, (A & D) during the chorus... thats the whole song... for the first solo... its ok, but keep playing it, and play some excercises, cause ur fingers sound like if they were weak, anyway the solo is acceptable...
Since you're actually asking for constructive criticism (I'm assuming you haven't been playing very long), I hope you don't mind if I suggest a couple of things. :)
1. Always use a tuner!
2. Work on your vibrato!
3. Work on techniques like slides, hammer-on/pull-offs, bends, bends with vibrato etc. and practice using these techniques together to smooth your playing. It still sounds a bit choppy.
4. Work on getting a better tone. You have the gear for it.
im "gfm93", first of all shut the fuck up i speak english, spanish and french you just spek fucking english, apart from that im not a punk, and if i said just bullshits why did you take away the comment of famous09, and your nothing than a little rich boy without any kind of talent
lets see i speak hebrew..english..and im learning spanish now (ill be honest im not that good at spanish..but..i definately DONT not just speak english) DONT MAKE FUCKING ASSUMPTIONS
and what the fuck do you know about talent..get a fucking life. You go around unproductively commenting people's videos. i can understand if its constructive criticism..BUT ITS NOT!
and no..im not KoloD9 if i was id be telling you on THAT ACCOUNT.
i agree with famus90 i live in aregntina, south america, i play a thousand times better than u little rich boy and i dont have thopse things, i do have a Fender but thats all and i deserve it
you fucking idiot dont know a shit about pink floyd or about guitar but your daddys give u everything you want so make me a favour and gfy, and break your ass till you deserve those thing
what does knowing about pink floyd have really anything to do with his guitar...or anything else...you have a rather terrible opening argument..then you make absoloutely no sense.. so theres not much to say abck to you
just sit down one weekend with some headphones and just play it over and over again, this will deff build up ur caluss on ur fingertips, take breaks of coarse :P, but those are two majors, vibrating notes without the tremolo, and pinched harmonics practice up, but dont give up cuz of the negative comments, just use it as fuel, you get used to it if you want a future in music cuz thats all ppl do is critisise, i accepted it and used the negative as ways to improve, good luck
thats THE MOST BULLSHIT ive heard in my ENTIRE LIFE you blabber on about how shitty he plays when you have ONE goddamn video up! and its not that good...it actually kinda SUCKS! now...we were ALL BAD including your arrogant punk ass. and natural born musician man are you funny. maybe not for guitar...hehe...well i guess you apologize before hand for your bullshit comments..
well hopefuly soon i'll have a video response, and if im better then him with the shitty equiptment i got, then i'll prove you wrong, anf if i still suck, then i still get a right to tell him what i think, you cant put viodeos up and not expect critisism, and oh believe me i know my video sucks, but hey, everyone has their own opinion and i stated mine.
But this is where my negative stuff ends, because think of it this way, sometimes all you need is one comment to make you want to prove that person wrong, okay, ur backing track, i used that one at first as well but if you want to progress i suggest you find the pulse version backing track, its better quality lol. work on getting your vibratos down cuz thats am essential, also when you get the chance look up how to do pinched harmonics also known as "squeelies" these come in handy
BUT, keep practicing, i dont think i was ever as.....uhh i dunno..bad lol, im a natural born musician so i learn easy but everyone doesnt, see i have a peice of shit guitar, no effects or distortion pedal, just a really bad quality guitar and a fender frontman amp, lol not much but im still better then you, pll think that if they but nice shit then ppl will automaticly think they are fucking amazing lol, but sorry my comments are so negative
first of all, tune your guitar properly, most of the song you just play chords that are mostly out of tune, ur strumming is retarded, ur playing is too choppy, there is no guitar for the verses, only the chorus if you do, then please play power chords, you shouldent be using humbucking pickups,it gives it a completely wrong sound, you dont use the bridge pickup the whole song, especially when they arent single coil pickups, ive never seen a good song murdered so badly or gear that was so misused.
You are a proof of "money for nothing". Guitar = a few thousands of dolars. Processor nearly a thousand dolar. amplifier no comment... But the sound is CRAP. You guys will never learn manner of striking is the most important thing of tone. not the guitar not the amplifier not the fx unit. 15 watt study amplifier with a good manner of striking will always sound better than 100 watt all tube amp with a bad one...
Dude, another good one. Just a little advice, I noticed that you kept losing the trem bar! With the lo-pro trem, you can take the bar out, remove the 2 plastic bushes, add a small amount of nail varnish, let it dry and replace the bushes. By doing this then wherever you place your bar, it will stay in place! I find it much easier this way :)
I've actually grown to like my trem bar loose xD haha. It came with some extra plastic pieces to put on so it will stay but I'm just different like that xD
You need some more practice, but you're definetly on the right track. You really need to use a lot of delay. It gives your sound a lot more 'fullnes' and it masks little mistakes. It is really essential to David Gilmour's soloing style.
For distortion use a rat of ds-1 style distortion. Fuzz-style only sounds right on a cranked tube amp.
Add some chorus or flanger to make the sound richer.
thanks! Really appreciate it. But if you could please tell me...what should i do to imrpove the sound. Improve it as in more vibrating of fingers, different settings, both? I changed the sound of the first solo to a more "open" sound with some more reverb..it was kind of "blunt" in this video heh but I'd love to know your opinion on how to improve my sound.
Nice job Kolo, but like Pompen3 suggested, try and develope more vibrating in the fingers of your left hand. Its hard work but ít'll pay of in the end.
i got the GT-10 for my bday and i had the same problem as to which one to buy. I dont have the pod x3 live though, sorry xD. Although you can search for it and find people who hav and compare both. From what I've read, Boss allows more customization while line 6 has the best tone with a few bugs as well. Don't take my word for it though. Sorry i don't really have an answer for you :(.
ok tel me are you satisfied wit the tones??? wel it sounds quite warm in ur video but wat abt live i mean does it sound actually good in live performances like i hav noticed most multi effect processors wen connected to high watt outputs like in the concerts dnt sound distinctive i mean the effects in distortion and overdrive corner dnt sound much distinctive same is with modulation. i mean if ur chorus is on 5 or on 15 doesnt give much difference wen playin live is it so???
honestly, ive compared this video to live and it catches the sound almost exactly as it is live. About the chorus/OD/DS, it actaully does make a difference. I can make you a vid if you want because i actually havn't played around much with the pedal myself so it would be no problem if you want me to send you one. Just tell me what to show/demonstrate.
hey bro its really very kind of you thanks man :).....wel i wud like u to first explore the complete overdrive and distortion section of tis unit coz its the actual area where most of the multi fx loose out and make a video in which u play out trademark sounds of great rock songs by GUNS AND ROSES, LED ZEP , AEROSMITH, METALLICA etc jus to see how close can tis pedal get. It wil be of great help if u can do in tht way...pls do try and take ur time no hurry...thanks once again
Decent attempt. Your on your way to nailing it but my advice would be to take all the techniques employed in that song and work on them individually, i.e. string bending. It has to be spot on! The guitar tone needs warming up... Add some more reverb and delay. Set the amp clean and don't dial in too much distortion on your pedal. The guitar tone was created by playing cleaner than you'd expect but at extremely loud levels. Very nice equipment, keep working on it until every note is perfect.
thank! and i really liked the sound i made for the second solo xD it doesn't have much sustain and i see what you mean. For the first solo i completely agree with you. The preset i made for it needed more sustain. Thanks for watching and the great comment/rating,
You look like scared rabbit. Put some heart in this!

Why are you playing an effectboard for 400€ and a guitar for 2500€?
I don't have any problems with beginners but the fact, that you're playing through equipment that costs more than 3000€ makes me angry.
With your skills you should neither use a guitar that costs 300€ nor an effect for 80€.

vibrating your finger makes sustain, and lets the note ring out longer!
one of the most important thing when playing sustained notes is to keep a steady finger vibrato!
