  • I love your sense of humour. "I'll get that screw later.." :-)

  • You forgot to mention, once you take the two screws out of the control panel, pull the control panel forward, then you will be able to tilt it backwards. Some control panels have two screws in the front also. P.S. If your into fixing washing machines and camping, check out my blog at campingfunwithcarl.blogspot.com.

  • Sure wish I had watched your video before attempting to remove my washers’ cover. I did everything you said the other guy in your video did. Thanks for the help.

  • Unfortunately went right to the incorrect way of taking mine apart like you mentioned. Thanks for the posting the video! Once again, YouTube was my last resort for how to fix something and ended up being correct.

  • Thanks so much! Really nice of you to post this! I've never taken a washer apart, so you saved me a lot of trouble using the ol' "trial and error" method! lol

  • Finally a video that makes sense; great job! I have a noisy spin cycle (and noisy at other times, but this at least teaches me how to open the darn thing! Thanks! Is there a belt on a Maytag Atlantis washer that might need tightening? Manual doesn't show any of this!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH

this saved me much more moeny than i expect

  • You saved me the grief of figuring how to dismantle my washer when the lid switch died. THANK YOU!

  • thanks i have the same washer and had the same problem and i found your video very informative

  • You rock! I had a different problem with mine, but being able to get it apart quickly made the difference. Thanks

  • Wow! Im guessin that the pump might be runnin dry and the impellar burnt through. Anyway great job and thanks tellin me what not to do to access the pump.

  • Thanks!! I have the exact same washer with the exact same problem. Im headed out to take a look at it now that I know how to take it apart ;)

  • Thank you for posting this video. I now know how to take my washing machine apart the smart way to find out why the agitator won't turn. The machine fills with water, but the agitator won't move an inch.

  • hi mom i no your reading this this is ziko ziko ziko ziko and yousef yousef yousef

  • I tried this at home but mine almost electricited me and my family.... Any more tips... Also after my repair it leak even more... Also it started to make a loud sweaking noise... Why do you think that is?

  • Thank you mate. I found your video very helpful.

  • Nice job,my washer won't star help

  • If it is a similar model to mine, check the wiring right where it goes into the motor. That part sometimes comes loose according to a Sears tech I've known

  • I took my washer a part and it was very easy after watching this video!! Thanks so much. I don't have the replacement pump yet. My pump looks exactly like yours. I however have two holes where I noticed the water was shoting from the pump. I'm thinking of sealing the holes with gorilla glue!! If anyone has done this please let me know. I am concerned that it may cause more damange to the machine. HELP!!

  • Damn, this video brung back some memories when I used to repair appliances for a living, even before I was married. Nice job, 5/5

  • Actually, there ARE older Whirlpools where the top pops off like the one guy said... but you have to flip those over onto the front or a side to access the motor, pump and tranny (not upside-down, 'cause the control panel is in the way)... you can't access the old style like the one in this video.

  • Very easy fix, thats what got me in the appliance repair business.P.S great job. What was the cost for the pump?

  • I think it was around $60

  • I've got a whirlpool washer that has an ear piercing screach at the end of the spin cycles. I'm sure it's the brake. Is there something I can grease or oil to get rid of this sound and how do I go about doing so?

  • how old is that washer?

  • Ouch! Fortunately that appears to have been a small leak so I suppose not too much of your place was flooded. Dihydrogen monoxide is such a merciless stuff. It will find its way no matter what and expensive damage can result from just a few liters of it in the wrong place.

  • It was just a very small leak but it did left a good sized puddle in the laundry room. My dad had mopped up the puddle earlier but he had to go to work right after we moved the washing machine outside the front door.

  • Nice Job andrew! Had one of these whirlpool washers that for some reason grew mold between the plastic liner and the tub, had to toss mine. Other than that the washer worked great!
