I'm confused... I'm just seeing daniel radcliffe, talking ABOUT Ian McKellan. It isn't a dialogue between them as the title and description suggest.... but a lot of the comments seem to be reacting to something that I can't see in the video. Was the original interview replaced by this clip, or something?
Jesus. Some of the people commenting against his acting skills are ridiculous.
If any of you are "Actors" then don't hide behind a keyboard pulling words out of your arses, to criticize something you've blatantly never done. Who are any of you to criticize anyone who is in showbiz?
Bottom line is, they are better off than you are. So who's really winning here.... just shut your mouths.
@patmadizzle you are right, i mustve been really tired that day, what i should've said was "coincidence"... but you couldnt think of the right word either ..fker LoL :P
these vidoes are nonsense. as a well-known actor i can tell you that it does not work like this and the only thing that counts is experience and your track record as a character is major motion pictures. everything else is BS. Also you must have immense talent of the sort that I exhibited even as a child.
He uses language like a child, it would be interesting to see if its was the pressure he suffered because of harry potter in some way perhaps not allowing him to mature in certain aspects.
How can someone think this guy is sexy ? Hes got these wierd eyes that seems to pop outa the sockets, and hes as pale as the white background on youtube, and the hair on his body is just thin and really wierd. He has huge eyebrows.. i dunno what some women see in this guy
Dan is only a growing actor (he gets better and better) but he is in his private and public life a great young man, cultivated and compassionate. I have great respect for him.
@Orbster25 Considering the status he's got - he's awful. If he were on Eastenders every week I'd be saying "Hey, he's not a bad little actor". Considering he's got 7 or 8 films to his name and is now a major player in Hollywood - he's a shit actor.
@insainiac33 how many roles have you actually seen him in, to make that sort of comparison and judgment? You have to see someone in several roles before you can determine if they're a good actor or not, see the differences they give to each character. Otherwise it could be the writing or directing that is creating a crap character. I didn't like Ginny in the HP movies but I don't think that's because of Bonnie Wright (the actress), I think it's because of the writer who gave her crap lines.
@LilaBear Alternatively, you can compare someone relatively to the other actors in the industry. For his status, and even alongside people like Rupert Grint and Emma Watson who have roughly the same experiences, he's crap. What you're describing is how versatile an actor he is. Now maybe he has razor sharp comic timing that is yet undiscovered (he was, for example, very amusing in Extras) but basing my judgement on his acting so far - he's not good. Maybe he will change my opinion.
@insainiac33 Well, I would think that to be classified as a good actor, you should be versatile. But that's not what I meant anyway. I meant that because most people have only seen him in this one role, they might not be able to tell if the crapness they're seeing is his acting or thanks to the director or writer. The first few movies I thought it was him, but in the later movies I've become more convinced it's how the character is written.
@LilaBear I wasn't. And I don't think versatility is the definition of a good actor. It certainly makes you a better actor if you're versatile, but there have been and still are many character actors who are notable for performing similar types of roles but being very successful, and indeed very 'good' at what they do. Hugh Grant makes it look easy to be Hugh Grant, but he just happens to be very naturally good at performing that type of role.
@MitholX okay personally I don't like beards I tried growing one, didn't work out to well, lol
Actually seeing Daniel with a beard is kinda odd and different but i understand why he probably grew one out, so he wouldn't look like harry potter all the time, never a good thing to stay in character for a long time. (because I'm an actor)
no I'm not gay but I see beauty in people but that doesn't mean I'm attracted to them. like I said it was odd for me seeing Daniel with a beard for the first time. lol some people look good with beards some don't.
Notice how his voice goes up at the end of nearly every sentence??... I remember him saying once that was something he found himself doing, because of being in America for a long period of time... lol sounds odd...
@lithfrasir I'm English... I am vaguely middle class... I don't speak like that.
I don't see how his voice going higher at the end of his sentences indicates him ''pointlessly pronouncing'' his words ? What are you on!?
I've always felt it a VERY American thing to go up at the end of a sentence... Dan generally doesnt do it, but I noticed in this interview and a few others he started to, since being in America...
@KellieMunckton im sure it rubs off quite a bit. remember, 90% of a successfull actors business is with or around americans. im american and i can tell you that just from watching alot of british movies, sometimes i'll find myself putting a slight british inflection on things.. so i can only imagine what talking to that many american fans, agents, and interviewers can do to a poor young english boy.. haha!
English inflection perhaps? There's no such thing as a "British" inflection because that could be any one of the hundreds of English accents, Any Scottish accent, Any Welsh or any Northern Irish. Unfotunatley, not many British movies that make it to the USA feature a range of accents, just people who speak very clearly. I don't want to be rude, but It does bug me to see people say "British accent", I grit my teeth and say "Listen to Jimmy Nail speak!". Look him up, he's from Newcastle
@CirceAlbatou Why everyone wants Daniel to shave? Dr. House the beard he has is sexy, then why Daniel can not wear beards? He is not a child, is a man and men have beards.
