Cut Jensen some slack -- the guy was brutally assaulted, thrown through a glass window from a high height, lost both his arms, endured a painful surgical procedure to fit him with mechanical prosthetics, and lost his girlfriend to boot. Heck, now, he can't even hold a whiskey glass without causing it to crack (see the trailer).

I'm not a psychiatrist, but I would suspect that he might be carrying some resentment about all of this; hence his lack of smiling.
