If you want to synchronize an existing srt file from a movie ,you must haved with the movie file.

If you dont have one create a new subtitle file with opening the movie in the program and choose to insert subs

It helped me a lot to modify and fix subtitles in other languages, but what about a new subtitle ?I have to translate a old movie for my mom but I know none about setting the times for 1st dialog , save , go for the next dialog , should be my 1st own made subtitle, all I need is some advices.

in this program you cant save the movie but only the subtitle,after save him you will use the convertXtoDvd to join the movie with them

Put the subs and the movie file into ,they must have the same name for exable "test.srt:" for subs and "test.avi" for movie,and start make them a dvd movie.

@nimnymph @Neo79189... when saving file go to SAVE AS...a box will appear .for example when you run your mouse over them it should say this ::Adobe encore dvd::Advance substation alpha::AQ title:: and so on and so on and so on...If you run your mouse over to DVD SUBTITLE (not dvd subtitle station) click on that to save your subtitle (thats what i use) ... then save subtitle (i put mine on DESKTOP) dont forget to name your subtitle the SAME AS YOUR MOVIE then click save...

then MAKE NEW FOLDER and DRAG YOUR MOVIE and SUBTITLE into that folder and they become one ready to be played...what ever programme player you use you always have to set the subtitle in that player to read the subtitle...i use VLC cause it plays anything and its easy for me to set the subtitles ...hope this helped.

If DVD SUBTITLE does not work for you when you SAVE AS in workshop then scroll down to SUBRIP that will work, you wont have no problems with that ... cheers

How do i save the project?? Even if i click FILE -> SAVE, the original file doesnt have the subtitles the next time i open it.. HELP!!

@Neo79189 Its becauce you doesnt have saved it permanent on the video file. If the video file is a .avi file try to use AviRecomp 1.5.1 to add it permanent.

This tutorial here is just to make the video text fit in the movie.

uhmm, i tried to open a video..

it's a .avi video file...

but there's a pop-up that says, "...is not a valid video file"

i've tried other videos and it opens... same type of file (avi)

but there's still some videos that i can't open...

...maybe is missing a codec from your pc and the player can not open it ,just in case download and instal the K-Lite codec pack (it is free,search in net) and i think that you will not have anymore problem to open a video file....

how to save subtitles to a movie

go file>save as ,and choose in wich format you will save it.

If you want To stick the subs in to the movie you will need another program to do it.

Try the ConvertXtoDVD ,its a good one.

go settings>language and choose yours ,and after you insert the movie file go to your left collum and there where says default open it and clik to your lang.

If there is not your lang inside the prog go to the official site and download the lang pack and put it in the programw files in the lang file.
