I always thought it was random glitches, but did anyone notice that "angel dust" and "wine" both are silenced out? It's odd that something as benign as wine would be edited, especially since I don't think this aired, but it's even weirder the blanks would be exactly there.
@cc9191 adam splitting the guitar after the stompboxes and running it to both amps, while the second can's eq is set at nothing but bass. i don't know if the second can split is true, but it seems plausible. another fingerpicker here on youtube actually rigs his guitars with another pup that goes directly to a bass amp, and that makes is sound like a bass
@cc9191 adam actually uses a very, very thick set of strings on his guitars for Two Gallants, i can't quite remember the actual dimensions, but it's ridiculous! this would make the guitar easier to tune down an octave on the low E string for the bassy bass lines, which is very probable that he does sometimes, it being still E it would mix with the rest of the guitar good, while emulating a bass. as for the other cabinet, i have noticed that on other videos as well. This could be explained by
@LaGrandeBeaute it might be.. it really sounds like a bass but i suppose if he has his both his pickups on and the tone on bassy, then it could be his thumb
Oh, I thought you were joking! No yeah, it's really his thumb. That's a style he picked up from guitarists like John Fahey. It's common in blues and folk fingerpicking guitar to pluck the top two strings for a bassline while you play the melody with your other fingers. Watch his hands. Also, best example of this is in their song "Steady Rollin". On album records sometimes they use a second guitar for a stronger bass line.
Yeah, its just really deep for a guitar, and there's a second can on stage which has been micd up. Its not gonna be for vocals because that would go through the PA, so it could be for a bass..
There is a distinct sounds that I find can be heard through most of their songs. It's like a short guitar riff, or maybe it's just the same guitar he is using in each. I dunno. Does anyone know what I am talking about?
@skyward360 He uses a lot of repeated finger patterns, I like to call it low-mid-mid-high compared to the pitch of the notes. Adam likes to use that because it creates a fuller sound, with slight variations in the high notes to match the lyrics, and differentiations in the bass line to keep it sweet and funky! As an aspiring folk guitarist I find his approach to guitar quite useful/amazing!
Myself and my husband have been looking for a concert now for over a year, and yes Ive posted something on another site regarding my husband, but he passed away in April this year and if I didn't have these guys, I listen to them daily especially at work. @negixx33 No news of a new album. Tyson has gone a totally different direction with his new group "Devotionals." It's really good stuff but he doesn't play drums on it. Guitar only now. Good but kinda sad to lose him on the drums.

Every freaking indie-rock video that I look at, some idiot has to make a comment about beards! Grow the hell up, most men can grow beards, just cuz' your 13 and can't.....
i've read an interview recently with someone who plays drums and piano. and he said when he enters a room and there's both a drum kit and a piano, he'd always play the piano first because drums make no one cry. when i see tyson play i know that this is not true...
I went to Drew junior year when the school was in the presido. Lived with Tyson's family the Vogels. Awesome guys knew both of them. WOW. Tyson couldn't play the drums when I knew him. Amazing stuff.
would adam's style be considered chord-melody? i guess its a bunch of things... its so rad though how hes has these little counter melodies that line up with the vocal melody every once in awhile.. they both are just such good musicians
This is still my favourite version of this song. It sounds much better with the faster pace. You can feel the heart they put into playing it, too. I'd do unspeakable things to see them live.
I first heard these guys on Saddle Creek's Lagniappe CD...Faithless Loyalties. I love that song, so I figured I'd check them out. I'm glad I did, these guys rock. He's such a unique talent when it comes to singing, and his guitar picking is amazing. Two Gallants falls into my top 5 favourite bands/artists.
on the g5120, the knobs are in a trinagle shape like adam's guitar. also the rose has two tone nobs up top and adam's (the g5120) only has one. also, haha, most roses have silver pickguards and adam's is clear...well actually it looks like he took it off but i have seen pictures of his with a clear one.
very very best song from the album - i love that tyson seems to get more and more singing parts, adds to very well to their sound. god i just love this band!

all of two gallants songs have a bass quietly in the mix... so there must be a third gallant somewhere backstage playing bass.

the most expensive gretsches can be in the $3000 range.
