  • Confound these ponies. They drive me to accidental culture.

  • Fantastic movie. One of my ALL-TIME favorites! Highly recommend this Classic comedy. George C. Scott, a Great dramatic actor, shows a true flair for comedy timing & turns in an unforgettable performance As Mordecai Jones, MBS,CS, & DD. Why he didn't do more comedy has always been a mystery to me. The cast includes an assembly of some of the very best "2nd banana" character actors ever! And I believe it was Michael Sarazins' debut.Sue Lyon does fantastic job also. Thanks for the "post"!!

  • This is great fun!

  • Saw this at a drive-in movie in SC. Good stuff here. Wonderful Memories!

  • Love the card work done by Jay Ose in this movie he was one of the best card men there was.

  • Back in 1977, I just got paid from the job, anD on my way home, I happened upon one of these three card montys. So stupid me, I betted $100 and lost!

I don't blame them. I blame myself for being avaricious...

  • Yeah, this movie is okay if you like incredible acting talent, a beautiful leading lady, a sometimes hilarious and sometime heartbreaking script, and a wonderful score. But it's too interesting, too absorbing and keeps one coming back even after 40 years.

  • Hi All, Screen Archives is releasing the Flim Flam Man DVD August 9, 2011.

  • @lwfalz Hmmm, what country would that be in? Cause it sure isn't in the U.S. of A.! I've got this and a few other movies on my list on a couple of different websites, avidly waiting for their release for the last 4 or 5 years, and I can tell you THIS movie is not out yet! I certainly wish it were!!!

  • One of the best comedies of all time. This movie is right up there with The 3 Stooges, Bugs Bunny, Groucho Marx ect... It also tells and teaches us alot about the underside of all our personalities. Don't get to greedy, it may come back and bite you in the ars!

  • Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

  • RIP Michael Sarrazin. Man, he was just so young here, tough to believe he's gone too. Should have been a much bigger star. Thanks for posting! Saw this in summer camp when I was 9, still remember every detail.

  • PLEASE VOTE FOR THIS TO BE ON RELEASED ON DVD

go on tcmdotcom and search the title, on the right hand side of the films page you can vote.

  • RIP Irvin Kershner.

  • Michael Sarrazin looked like JFK when he was young.

  • Great movie directed by a man who was one of George Lucas's film professors at the University of Southern California. The director of the Flim Flam Man also directed THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. Irvin Kershner.

  • thanks for posting this... it's agreat film!

  • Thanks for posting it--I hadn't seen it since I saw it at the movies when it first came out.

  • I haven't seen this movies in over 25 years but George C. Scott tipped his hat to this movie in a scene from 'The New Centurions' when his character (Policeman Andy Kilvinsky) asks a cheque-forging suspect 'What have you been busted for? Forgery? Flim-Flam?"

  • I think that was an inside joke as the guy He will not get into that game as he heard of people loosing money. That is the magician who taught George C Scott how to play it for the movie.

  • 5-22-010 Happy 70th Birthday Michael Sarrazin!

  • Thanks for posting this. I've been searching for awhile. This is a great, underrated classic!

  • thanks hamtrak, that may be it. the melody drifts around in the back of my mind like an echo in a cave.

  • Any movie buffs out there know if the opening score for this terrific little movie was ever used in another film? I seem to associate it with some other movie.

  • @yamsid This film was a short lived TV series in 1969 starring Forrest Tucker. The opening score may have been used in that.

  • We have traveled to the Kentucky towns of Lawrenceburg and Winchester and many of these locations still look as they did forty -three years later!
