I have to laugh at the idiots that think a D11 will outpush this, put this blade on a D11 and it wont do jack shit this blade is almost TWICE the size of a D11 blade.
@Refreshernoob just looking at them on a long push it seems that way ,but as the job moves along they can spread more material than any other machine and its cost effective
@Baphamatt Strip mining I'm assuming, the dozers are removing overburdon from what I can gather. Very unlikely you'd see a dozer of this size on a road job
There's nothing wrong with their method. Its a carry bladed dozer, its supposed to carry large capacities over long distances. This is a relatively short distance. I also believe their stockpiling this overburden hence the climb. For the D11 fans raving on about how it would out push this komatsu, you are living in fantasy land. Cat D11R CD=57yards V Komatsu D575A= 90-125yards depending on blade spec
@GlobalMiningMachines The only difference is the D11R or T can push in E. Kentucky Rock...One job I worked on had 6 475 Komatsu's and they all started breaking down at 8k hours...A D11 is Just gettting broken in at these hours...finally Komatsu moved all big dozers out of E. Kentucky until they could figure out the problem...Even the Japenese Tech's stated the D11 were superior in this type of hard rock...
@bperry1647 I wasn't getting at the which is a better manufacture, I was only stating that in no circumstance would a D11 push a larger volumes of material over a 575. I myself am a Cat man over Komatsu any day but thats simply my preference as an operator. I've never experienced the E.Kentucky Rock so I'm in no position to comment on it.
It seems to me that these two operator know what hay are doing or they wouldn't be on these multi million machine doing this task. please also remember that these operators may not agree with what they are doing but do it as the bosses ask.
Holy fucking shit their is all these people saying they have all this experience but no one has yet to tell me why in the fuck he is pushing so long?... push a pile to a pile and work you fucking way back whoever owns this equipment must not give a shit about cost and maintenance
@godackgudalach1 Many times a long push is needed when opening a new pit...the mines I worked would push out long the first shot then drill the next shot on an angle so they could cast most of the next shot...After the shot there would be 60 foot of highwall already cast out...
I reckon the komatsu gets better traction with more forward weight than the cats, who wasnt paying attention last time they fueled up... haha cool vid
I see 2 very experienced and productive operators. The big Komatsu is impressive. My 12 years experience has been with Cat D9H and D10. To me, this kind of dozer work was as good as it gets. A good machine, plenty to do and nobody bothering your, especially the foreman. Up-grade pushing is not the most efficent applications for these machines, none the less they are very productive. Thanks for this video.
It maybe so 550Deere but this Komatsu can push 90 yards in a single pass.Komatsu also introduced their first 1,000hp bulldozer the D555A at Conexpo 81 in Houston.
Its not hard to make a difference between this machine and all other dozers even on video. This dozer pushes alsmost twice as more than anything else and climbind such a hill with so much material in the blade is quite impressive
probably is the biggest bulldoser grate machine.

@TurboGSR96 The only problem with these were they only ran for 10 mins before breaking down. D11's always win on reliability,

Wow, I move machines in KY, and never can find 575's.. I know they are there, but the beasts are as elusive as Bigfoot.
D11's are as common as raccoon's and possums

@kylerw1 Your joking right??? It would take two 11s to out push that big KOMATSU......

@56pw we had a 575, and a d11, side by side, and in the dirt we were in, glacier till, d11 walked away.
