A basic toss is done with the left hand with your palm outward and your left doesn't throw under, it throws up. How are you supposed to get any height out of a toss like that?
The toss being demonstrated are the basic mechanics for all major tosses. If you want higher tosses, the "Power Toss" will be featured in my "Advanced Mace" series. The power toss will utilize mechanics from this basic toss.
Thumb tosses are more appropriate for batons because of their size. This toss is actually the basic movement for most tosses (including the "power toss").
Hi. Is the force required to bring the mace down (at the very start) quite high? I tried just letting it swing down using a little force but it doesn't turn fast nor high enough. Only when using almost full strength can i get it to spin enough for my other hand to catch it. Am i doing something wrong?
Kinda, you just need to put a little more power behind the initial toss hence the phrase "it's all in the wrist". The main thing you need to do is get the mechanics down before you try faster, higher tosses. Once you have that down you can adapt this technique into much higer tosses. It depends on how much force you put into the initial toss.
where can i buy mace like that here in the philippines? any pinoy here?

Thumb tosses are great for speed. This technique is more appropriate for height.
